Is there a better more reliable way to get flint? or do I have to start over and customize resource gathering rates?

Flint is the most useless resource in the game.

You can go into settings and then world settings in game and change the rates without having to restart.

Are you joking? Its need for craft lot of buildings and BOLTS, if you try to play with Crossbow, you will cry without flint.
Must be alternate way to craft it (from stones maybe, stones really useless...)

If you have found the snake mountain area and alter, I go there with resource gathering at max and hit every stone/ coal node there and come out with a little over a full stack of stone and around half a stack of flint. Plus I am also killing the snakes for the shining scale drop...

bro you cant use it in building, in traps, in cooking, in fuel, in blueprints, in upgrades literally anything but bolts.
