Not meant to survive the night ?
Errrr .. I mean. It starts of good with all the resource gathering etc. But when the night comes you are just *swamped* with "Monsters" . And I mean ... swamped. There are dozens, never ending horde which kill you immediately, not matter what weapon you have. I mean, are you not supposed to survive the night, because of the demo restriction ? If this is normal gameplay, then that's a big no buy for me. Why cant you just make a pirate game with the focus on exploration and crafting, rather than fighting endless hordes of zombies with some inadequate weapons and clunky fight mechanics ??? You have all the ingredients here.

And yes, i needs controller support.

well i didn't have any trouble surviving them.

- the spike traps help. you can make a row of them and then stand at one end. they will get caught on them or form a line to fight you...
- enable fairy (F!) she will spin around you and hit stuff for like 10 damage.
- having a melee weapon is a must. 1h blunt to start, 2h blunt after you upgrade the workbench with the mallet.
- it would be smart to cook up some food on the campfire for mid-fight healing. most food heals for 15 or 20 each. you can get a ton of mushrooms and clams.
- make some repair kits at the workbench for your weapon to last all night. your hatchet will need some for day time also.
- you should be able to craft a set of cloth armor by day 2 for night 2. if you are super efficient / lucky you should be able to make wood armor for night 3. (if you kill hellboar, he drops a really strong helmet too)

with all that... there is no reason for you to die during a night raid. not even the first night when all you have is a little food and a 1 hand blunt weapon and a few spike traps.

you can also just run circles around them if your weapon breaks. they are quite slow. (i think they might be getting fast by night 3 but i could be wrong)

slaughtering them is a great way to get a ton of exp (levels for stats and skills).
- if you kill them fast enough.. there is a pause in the respawns at around 2am where you can repair your weapon and invest levl ups into stats and skills.

just don't put any stat points into stamina. it only gives you +1 which is almost nothing.

hp, attack, defense are all good investments.
for skills, i went with defensive first (less bleed and fractures) i also got some attack speed and move speed.
