Weapon Projectile Relative Speed
Currently, if a ship is flying without its kinetic field and fires its guns, the projectiles can impact the ship if it has a higher velocity than the projectiles. Will the weapons ever fire at a speed relative to its ship, or will it always be relative to a fixed point in space?

If it was ever changed it would be more realistic and would make high speed combat with the current weapons less dangerous, but it could pose balance problems considering the damage is based on physics, if I remember correctly.

Hits the ship even with the kinetic field might be better to disable Weapon when at a given speed

Maybe the way two kinetic fields react that slows the ships down from moving away at speed until there is enough distance between the two or more ships to gain speed and escape.

I don't like how the weapons targeting and auto fire is but I will see what happens should it all change and improve.
HERO this is a good question. And yes you are right about the damage physics stuff.
I hope nobody minds if I bump this...I am hoping for a reply from LT.
Well it would only be realistic if projectiles inherit the speed and direction of the ship that fired them.
Should be a viable tactic to fly towards someone at speed to boost damage.

And augment the damage.. since the projectile were fired fasted.

Wasn't that pretty much what I said?

Damn the physics give me Epic explosions!

And if you want to add more that the CPU can't handle it all doesn’t Unity support the built-in NVIDIA PhysX™?

Yes it was.

That's what happens when you read too fast and the most important words were the last ones.
