ppsh -----has more ammo
colt name brand lol
mp44 -- head shpts
colt or magnum --- damage
G-43 - nice zoom coupled with a semi-auto 7 bullet mag
Blyskawica - Useful close range - Best MG vs skeletons
Colt
Mid-game & End-Game
Preacher - it's my baby - one bullet does 5 times more damage than a regular sniper rifle bullet. 2 bullets of it makes Occult General flinch, 6 bullets required to take it out. (after the flying skulls are gone). No matter where you hit an enemy with the Preacher, the bastard don't get back up. It is always one shot kill with grunts. For Elite, 5 headshots are required.
Shotgun - Useful very close range, against all types enemies.
Colt - I use it to take out the flying skulls on the Occult General

Myself I think most weapons, in their individual categories of course, are mostly much of a muchness - as in there are individual differences but little that can actually be perceived or utilised within in the the game. To me most of the firearms seem arbitrary and just a 'fun' feature which has little real requirement, value or consequence. The same I could easily say for the loadout option.
For example the Panzerfaust to me was totally superfluous and at no time did I need it when it was available in the safe rooms. The alternative weapons were far more relevant and desireable in the level to follow.
The only weapon category I did think had any value in choosing was the handgun. Some had noticeably more power (than others) which made the zombies dispatch quicker mostly seen via a one or two bullet drop/death.
I will add for reference that I was playing on the 'medium' difficulty and have no idea whether weapon choice made any difference at higher difficulty levels.
I will also add that I thought the game was great and I have had my fun and I expect very soon I will play it again so whatever flaws or limitations it has, I personaly can excuse them in this case.
mp44 - great for headshotting zombies at 6-10 meter range
colt - great for skeletons
There is no sniper rifles doing more damage than another. They all do the same amount of damage.
Difference only exist in muzzle velocity (higher or lower compensation for longrange shot), zoom level, scope style (how can you trust the scope's notches inside to compensate your shot), capacity, rate of fire, recoil, and reloading type (semi-auto or bolt action).
Any rifle will take out a zombie with the same amount of bullets in the chest, (depending vital hit or just a regular shot), according to difficulties (Sniper Elite takes more shot to kill a grunt).
And whatever you got their head, they're down for good.
The only weapons you can compare for damage are everything else except the sniper rifles. The Preacher is doing more damage than the other sniper rifles, replacing it. But this ain't a sniper rifle, only a long-range double-barrel shotgun. Can easily kill a sniper up to 150 meters with it.
The proof is that : whenever you shoot an enemy, no matter where you hit him, he's down for good. The Elite (MG big fat) takes 5 headshots instead of 15 with a regular sniper rifle.
The Occult General (when vulnerable) takes 2 headshots from it instead of a lot more with a regular sniper rifle.
and the webley kill zombies and skulls in one shot most of the time
for the rifle i think it goes with personal tastes i take the garand and throw it after for the preacher
tommygun has just a 20 rounds mag and has not more power than the blyskawicka(32rnd)
mp44 is weak
mp40 is a good choise
Actually it is... It's a double barreled shotgun. In the last game it used slugs (Single mass of lead), in the second one it uses buckshot (many pieces of lead in a shell). So you're wrong...
ppsh or mp40
Colt or Luger.
