You need to go to the spot in the right of Venice city, zoom in because it's barely visible.

You need a convoy with enough streng, get crew in a city and scort tab assign ship scorting to increase your strengh, then you can continue.

Basically as Poul said:

1) create a convoy with at least 20 cannons ( I recommend more bc the naval combat is a bit harder than PR2)

2) go near venice (in the eastern side of the Venice bay) and find the little buoy (or whatever it is) floating on the water. Right click on it and you will be asked to go to Constantinople.

When I click on the buoy, It says that my convoy isn't strong enough. I have about 10 ships in the convoy with 250 sailors.

You have to arm your convoy first, it´s on the right side in the screen where you can see the level and skills of your Captain. (One ribbon before this one). Easiest way is to arm by ship stregth, a button on the bottom of this ribbon

Where do I buy canons from?
Edit: I worked it out. I just lost my steam ship to pirates lol. No point in playing anymore.

You only have to add them to your convoy after this they will be on your escort ships automaticly
