Can't start game - internal error
Is anyone else getting an internal error when starting the game? I can't even get to the loading screen as I get:

Serialisation\Archives\Binary\BinaryInArchive.cpp(13): Error in 'Serialization::BinaryInArchive::loadBinary'

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried rebooting, restarting steam and verifying cache. Thanks :)

If you still experience problems, please send an email to: support@kalypsomedia.com

Please include your system specifications or your DxDiag within the email.

How to obtain your DxDiag file:

1. From the desktop click: Start > Run (or windows key + r).
2. In the blank text field of the window that appears type “dxdiag” without the quotes. Press run or hit enter.
3. Another window should appear titled DirectX Diagnostic Tool. Near the bottom of the window click on “Save All Information…” A popup should appear with a progress bar, this may take a few minutes.
4. After it completes a dialog should appear asking you where to save the file, I would recommend saving it to your desktop (automatically selected) with the default name and file type.
5. Open the file on your desktop (or wherever you saved it) and select all (ctrl + a) and copy (ctrl + c).

Thanks

Bump, Been 2 days since I put in my request with dxdiag report, still no word yet on how to fix it. How long did it take for some of you to get a reply?
Still waiting to try out this game, looks really fun.

We are working closely with the developers and i can assure you, they are trying to fix the problem and getting back with an answer as soons as they have something. In the meantime you could try not only to re-verify your files but also delete the game via Steam, Restart and then re-install.

Did you add a description of the problem to your DxDiag?

Personally I gave up, and just reinstalled windows and it worked fine. I've got a mac and am on bootcamp so it wasn't too much of an issue for me, I hope you get it sorted soon :)

Contacted support. Lets see, how long it takes to get an answer...

I would suggest dunning dxdiag in windows. That way If you have problems It will show up.

DXDiag showed no issues, hence why they needed a dump file after my crash to examine.

My situation is that absolutely nothing happens except for very brief info window that is probably telling me Steam is attempting to load the game. I get no error at all. I have sent Kalypso support a dxdiag file. Hopefully they will find something in common here and resolve the issue. Looking forward to playing this game. Reminds me of an old DoS game Merchant Prince and I really like the Patrician series.

Yesterday I was able to play through steam for 1 hour. Today again not possible.
Kalypso recommended to update drivers (as usually), but that is not the root cause.
