Remake of Machiavelli?

Is this a remake of the classic Machiavelli The Prince?

Yep! I'm thrilled. Machiavelli the Prince/Merchant Prince 1 & 2 are some of my favorite games of all time.

I think it is and I'm counting on that. Machiavelli with a new engine perhaps and with new techs for sure....can be good, multiplayer should be awesome.

A very old and very good strategy game. Check out the links, it's abandonware nowadays, you can get it for free, no reason not to try it.

I was always hoping Gog would upgrade Merchant Prince for newer systems and then along came Venice. It does remind me of that old game, one of my earliest and favorite strategy games. One thing I'm sure Venice doesn't have which Merchant Prince had, and which I'll miss, is randomized maps. I loved exploring where you'd see an ancient looking map overlay and as you went looking for rumored cities, you'd uncover the real map. At any rate, I had some fun with Patrician ages ago (only played the first one) and so I may get this.

Ahh I remmeber machivelli the prince. So much that I got the Merchant prince only to find out it was the exact same game even though it was marketed differently (they even had the old title in it, and renamed the file lol). I think this was the first known rip off in PC gaming history

Anyhow this game is pretty much the same minus the random maps
