Solved
Been stuck trying to get out of chapter 1, so I looked up a guide and see that I am supposed to get a battery from the tube in the junkpile. When I interact either with his robot companion or himself - says something like nothiung to do here.
Game breaking....

The guide is getting you ahead of the game -- you need to find the battery first using the mobile energy sensor. It can be built from
- The sensor parts that you may have left plugged into the UNNIIC when you got the coordinates.
- The LCD monitor in the generator room of the UNNIIC.
- The targeting computer from the AA gun at the dome (you'll get the location of the dome from EFL).

Combine those, then use the mobile sensor to sweep the the tube. When you do, a new hotspot will be created there, and you can send Crispin to get the battery.

Let me know if you need more help.

To add more info.
The junkpile was the 2nd place I visited after all the intro stuff. I used Crispin on the tube and got something but dont recall what it was. Possibly a battery that was used on something else or it vanished since I got it earlier than intended?

Wrong tube. That's where you got the conduits. The one you'll need is up and left from the train.

Ahh, thanks, let me check it out as I have used that sensor all over that screen.

Thanks - that was it. All this time lol.

:/

I have had literally the exact same experience when using a walkthrough and misunderstanding which hotspot it was referring to. (Not with Primordia, of course. I can't remember what game it was -- maybe Gabriel Knight?)

Anyway, glad it's fixed! Hope you enjoy the rest of the game, and feel free to post if anything else gets you stuck.

Ive played most of Wadget games ( Technobabylon really good) and enjoy their style.

Wadget Eye Games is just the publisher though. ;)

Well, WEG developed some of the titles -- The Shivah, the five Blackwell games, and Golden Wake and Shardlight (though those weren't principally Dave's designs). So they're not *just* a publisher. But, yeah, Primordia (us), Resonance (XII Games), Gemini Rue (Josh), and Technobabylon (Technocrat) were all developed by folks other than WEG.

My understanding is WEG got pretty involved (albeit late in the project) in developing one of the others too, not sure if it was Resonance or Gemini Rue. There are noticable overlaps in style and themes between many of the titles - probably mostly owing to the Gilbert's tastes, but also the AGS community and artists hoping between projects. Correct me if I'm wrong Mark.

WEG helped code the last third(?) of Resonance and with Gemini Rue suggested the title change, at a minimum. And provided the VO for all of them. I think the stylistic similarities are mostly coincidental.

Took me a while to solve this part too.

Believe me, it used to be way worse: originally the energy sensor didn't give any kind of a sonar ping, so you had to just manually sweep the junkyard!

My sound is off most games as I have history channel on with Ancient Aliens playing so ping didnt do squat for me ;)
