Wolfenstein 3D

Wolfenstein 3D

How to get fullscreen
Hey,
I was just wondering if anyone could help me get this game a bit larger? I love it but it is maybe at best 240x300 or something. takes up 1/8 of my screen.
any help?

in the opttions menu you can choose "size" , and make it bigger. can't get any bigger then that I'm affraid. but making it bigger doubled the size for me, so I'm fine with that

i ended up messing with the config file it was set at 800x600 so just changed that to 1920x1080 and it is fine now

What setting did you change? I tried in the base/wolf3D/Conf file, but it didn't work.

open wolf3d.conf in Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Wolfenstein3d/base
Open this file using notepad
See where it says fullresolution=1920x1080 just change that to what ever your monitor/tv's resolution is at

That is the one I changed, it had no effect. I was hoping I just had the wrong file. I wonder why it works for you, but not for me?

try alt+enter? strangely enough, sometimes when I switch between the game and desktop it also shrinks to the size you're mentioning. Then I just make sure the window is active and try the simple alt+enter and boom, full screen again... :s lame solution, not sure if it will work for you, but hey, no harm in trying eh ;)

That didn't do it either, it's still only doing 800x600.

crap. Did you set the full screen option at the very first screen the game gives you? its like a "light" you have to click active
js51472 Aug 12, 2013 @ 8:35am
I only have 5 options on that screen, no fullscreen. To be clear, do you have the game taking up your whole screen, with no black bars/wasted space?
Aartsbok Aug 12, 2013 @ 8:58am
yes, I have the game completely full screen
Aartsbok Aug 12, 2013 @ 9:01am
only a very tiny grey edge around the game screen.

Even has in game mapscreen and stuff, supports higher resolutions, great sourceport. Images are smootet up and look more like the atari jaguar version.

I'll check out that site. I have a few more questions: Have you changed anything else? Are you running as administrator or in compatibility mode? Are you on W7 64 bit? Thank you both for trying to help me.

I'm on win 7 x64 indeed. I didn't change anything else. I even have full screen when I don't change the cfg file and it still stands on 800x600, it's just upscaled then. in your case, do you have full screen of game but only a tiny playfield? or do you just have a small window?

I'm not in compatibility mode or anything like that, since it's in dosbox there's no need for such.
