Influence and planet flipping
Has anyone else had problems with the AI being quickly able to flip planets you own very quickly. I've only noticed this since the patch, but I had only played for a few hours before the patch. I the games since have had the AI take multiple planets quickly and split my fledgling empire in half. Game difficulty is on normal or gifted.

This could be (most likely!) me been a noob and not understanding the mechanics involved with this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks :)

I've been finding the opposite in my most recent game (up to about turn 200). For some reason the AI keeps settling on worlds in my zones of control and then it's just a matter or waiting 4 or 5 turns before I assimilate them. The space stations they build in my zone stay, however, so maybe I should be worried.

It depends on the amount of Influence your both producing. My guess is that the planet the AI flipped sifted the balance enough for other planets to flip in a domino effect. Next time try building more Influence producers. Note the one thing that have a major effect are the benevolence unlock buildings.

My game has very high influence, which is why I assumed I was getting them flipped so quickly, but still surprises me that the AI keeps just giving me planets. I think I've assimilated more than 4 so far. saves trouble on colonizing worlds ;-)

Ive lost my current game over influence flipping my planets in quick succession.
It started out with a weird influence overlap in my territory, Then one planet succumbed, and the enemy influence was in reach of 3 of my planets. a few turns later, ive lost half my territory.
Thats just wrong..

Influence calculations seem to be behaving rather bizarrely in the current patch. If you're getting one of those weird 'panhandles' or other obvious "Huh what?" situations, you might want to send in the save game along with a report of the problem; this has been coming up on the Stardock forums too.

Build starbases around artifacts and resources far out from your empire but on the edge of your enemy empires. If not at war build them up and you can cut out and cut off parts and bring them in and help slow or stop losing stuff to influence and also gain planets and territory.

Thanks guys. There is a thread about this issue on galciv3 forum as Syrris mentioned.
