Biomass Resequencer
So, last turn I researched Biomass Resequencing. Which says I can build a Biomass Resequencer. I don't find it on my build list, either on a planet with empty tiles or on a planet that has fully built food and population upgrades (to this point in my tech tree). The GC3 wiki doesn't list a prerequisite for it either.

An oversight or is there something I'm missing?

The Biomass Resequencer is an upgrade of Xeno Irrigation. Which in turn is an upgrade of Food Distribution.

So there's the problem. There's no Xeno Irrigation in the tech tree.

It goes Food Distribution --> High Yield Crops ---> Biomass Resequencer

[edit]

Even if it's not supposed to be that branch, I've researched everything in the colonization tree except manufacturing focus and lossless farming. I don't get any upgrade option for food distribution. So I maintain it's missing from the tree.

I will look into this. What race are you playing as? or rather what race type?
starship_trooper Mar 12, 2019 @ 11:25am
Biomass Resequencer (and also Quantum Power Plant) are now exclusive to races with the Intuitive ability. Only they have access to the prereq techs Xeno Irrigation and Future Studies (giving access to prereq improvements Xeno Irrigation and Fusion Power Plant). See the updated sticky abilities thread.

I'm pretty sure that Stardock just forgot to put IntuitiveAbility as prerequisite for Biomass Resequencer and QPP in the ImprovementDefs.xml file, so that only Intuitive can see these improvements in the tech tree.

@admins: I am the OP of the sticky abilites thread here:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/226860/discussions/1/1696046342872548776/

I could update the first two posts for Retribution v3.5 abilites without any problem, but the forum won't let me update the third post (the one that starts with "Vigilant"). I get a network error as soon as I click on 'Save Changes'. Could you look into this, please?

I think I have also encountered these issues, expecting these improvements to be available after researching the required tech...

If I understand the previous explanation, you currently require the 'Intuitive' ability in order to build:

* Xeno Irrigation
* Biomass Resequencer
* Fusion Power Plant
* Quantum Power Plant

Those are some pretty significant planet improvements to be exclusive solely to 'Intuitive'.

You are correct.

I disagree here. These are late-game techs and they don't give an overly significant boost. They do not push Intuitive into the top tier of racial abilities, far from that.

Sorry. Those explanations are off the mark in my case. My custom race is intuitive. Intuitive time travelers.

Check the Governance research category. From Xeno Commerce, Intuitive gets access to the Xeno Anthropology tech line. At the end of it are Xeno Irrigation and Future Studies.

It is NOT in the Colonization category!
kekkomartin Mar 12, 2019 @ 4:51pm
..lets make this short and definitive, since I'm being told things are in my tech tree when I keep saying they are not.

Hitting X in the search box of research function does not show a "Xeno Irrigation"
For that matter, it doesn't show a "Xeno Anthropology"
The closest it comes are Xeno Archeology, Xeno Adaptation, and Xeno Artifact Studies

[Edit]
"Future" gives 0 results

Well, I can only tell you what I see in the .xml files and what I get in my games when I pick Intuitive ability:

Which is the point of my post. Something is missing.

(I don't know how to embed it like you did)

Would you humor me a moment, and throw a quick Intiutive Time travalling race together, just to see what you get on the tech tree?
Syrris Mar 13, 2019 @ 1:06am
I just checked this myself: Intuitive does add those things to the Governance section of the tree, at least with a carbon-based species.

Either Biomass Resequencing ought to be moved to the Intuitive line or Biomass Resequencing and Xeno Irrigation swapped in their places since the current arrangement doesn't make any sense.

Likewise, the power plant tech probably shouldn't be showing up in the relevant tech entry if you can't actually build it. Maybe just the two power plant structures could be swapped around since a fusion plant doesn't seem THAT strange an idea as general tech.

Started several games with a TT and Intuitive custom race. Tried Carbon, Aquatic, Synthetic, Silicon. No difference, Intuitive techs are always there.

Looks like your game installation might be broken. Or maybe you're missing some important DLC (I play with all expansions and DLCs).
kekkomartin Mar 13, 2019 @ 1:14pm
I have all the DLC. I was one of those people who bought the original game at a level to get a star named, get thanked in the credits and get all the DLC, when it was in Beta

Maybe because it's an older created race?

I'll try copying it and starting a new game and see what happens.
kekkomartin Mar 13, 2019 @ 1:21pm
well
Restarting a new game after hitting 'edit' and 'save' on my custom race and the techs in question are there.
Maybe the race was somehow borked.
