Galciv3.exe has a virus!
I just downloaded today's update. Avast reports and blocks IDP.Generic virus.

False positive.

OK. How do I stop Avast from blocking the game from executing?

I think your advast just has an incompetent user...

I don't use Avast, so I don't know for sure, but it probably has some kind of whitelist feature?

Now the game has "Update paused" status and won't proceed. I've tried verifying the integrity of the game cache.
@DarkWhisper: wow, you sound like a nice person.

Weird. Okay, hmm, try disabling Avast during the install?

Thanks, working on it now. Have purchased Crusade.
Isnt Avast known to cause false positivs?

Several AV's do from time to time for whatever reason. Always a pita. :(

I disabled Avast and then was able to download and install the expansion. Got Crusade running now. Seem to have it whitelisted now, too. Thanks for your patience and I apologise if I caused alarm.

Thanks, Ed. I submitted the file to Avast so they can investigate also.

Avast can be a tough virus to remove, fortunately the creators themselves made a removal tool. Just search for Avastclear. You know its claws are in deep when they have to make a removal tool :)

Yeb. Surprise how people still using it. It probably bundle with new PC or already pre-installed. Windows 7 and above rarely need third party anti-virus since it has built-in Windows Defender software and it is doing ok on it's own.

It also has the capacity to completely lock up a computer, make weird things happen on screen, and prevent itself being repaired or upgraded. Avast takes no prisoners.

Norton love doing that too. Seriously, Avast and Norton shouldn't exist anymore. Both are obsoleted and one of the creator even hate it, not even using it on his own.
