Let's Play AoW3 - Elven Court - without losing units!

Welcome to my Age of Wonders 3 Let's Play starting with the Elven Campaign.

As always we are going to push things to the limit and I will try to avoid losing a single unit! Difficulty is on hard, turns are simultaneously and Golden Realms DLC is installed.

So expect a lot of tactical combat, strategic planning on the world map and I will explain all units in detail as we progress.

So what happens when you lose a unit, restart the mission?

No, I just want to know how far I can go. So I will keep track of lost units, trying to keep the losses to zero as long as possible.

And I won't count unavoidable one shot kills, because I want to use Tier I units to show their value. Some of them have so low health that they get killed before your first turn. That is the only exception.

And yes I think it is possible, biggest problem will be the Goblin mission :)

not possible i think....but a challenge to see how far. yea for a sandbox game IMO arch-druid with elves is easiest start to victory

We are trying to get back Thannis' Crossbow and the first step towards revenge is helping out some fairies that are annoyed by Gumblag, because his Orcs are making too much noise! So let's see if we can silence them.

Units that get presented in this episode are: High Elv Longbowman, High Elv Union Guard and the Buttercup Fairy.

After sniping Gamblag Sundren is trying to get away through enemy territory and stumbles across his unguarded artillery. Meanwhile Reskar is tasked with hunting down the Shrine of Smiting, which is a major threat for the Elven cities. So let's play some cat and mouse on the world map.

We have lost track of the Shrine of Smiting which puts us in a tricky situation. It could strike at several of our cities so we have to hunt it down. Scouting is the key to success! Unfortunately it is the army least equipped to deal with it, that finally finds it... are the Storm Sisters up to the task?

After killing Gamblag again we seize the opportunity to attack his capital without worrying about enemy spells. The siege engines Reskar has provided will prove very useful in the big battle for the city!

On top of that we are able to intercept the troops that are rushing to the defense of the capital and force them into an open field battle. The Orcs rush in with a terrifying battle cry and are confident to win, because the computer gods predicted their triumph over the Elven forces, but our archer take position behind fences, stones and hedges and deadly arrows begin to rain down...

Gamblags main army is surrounded at the city of Lakette and he can only watch from the void as Reskar and Sundren join forces and approach to deliver the finishing blow. Guess he feels the frustration at the moment!

We manage to hit the city before the walls are completed, but the defenders decide to immediately charge. It almost seems they know that all it takes is to get one single unit...

Reskar still needs more experience, so let's collect all the remaining treasures! Meanwhile Sundren and our main army make sure Gamblag is sent to void from time to time. This way we prevent him from raising a big enough army to seriously threaten us.

Mission finale! Reskar storms a forbidden sanctum full of Assassins and a very charming Succubus is there, too. On top of that Gamblag rains Wrath of God down on us. So good chances of failing at the very last moment. And of course there is the final showdown with Gamblag!
