Trying to set up a game via LAN

Im trying to get a game started but my brother cantjoin me....i notice on the player rosters it has me and a bunch of AI's as players so i figure "oh it must be because I haven't switched from AI to human" but nope i cant find a human option....only ai squire, knight, king etc....whats going on...there is no answer for this anywhere!!!! so annoying!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble setting up a local game.

You can only assign players that are in the map setup lobby to a slot, so your brother needs to join the game you've hosted before you can assign him to a slot.

Can you tell me more about why your brother can't join the game you've hosted? Is the game not listed for him, or are there issues when he tries to join your game?

thanks for the quick reply. When searching for local games my game shows up. He clicks to join and it attempts to join, but after about 30 seconds it fails to join.

(ps it mentioned in a box joining to session failed)

My first guess would be that firewalls are getting in the way.
Do you have the same problem when your brother hosts the match?

The item name at the moment is AoW3Launcher

Just:
-Create a shortcut for it
-Right Click it and go to Properties, Compatibility, and make it be run as an Administrator
-Go to the LAN option in the game
-In the Adapter area, select the same network IPs (i.e.: Hamachi/ZeroTier/etc...)
-Set the same Network Name
-One person hosts
-The others wait for the Session to be open
