As for grey guard or shadowborn I think the choice is just about chosing what 2 spheres you want in last mission as nobody seemed to bring it up. Admitedly Shadowborn likely has more synergy with necro as grey guard has some issues such as some of their spells also hurting your units and having no nonshrine way to heal your angelic unit.
As for cannon I'm not sure but Melenis seems to likely not be the answer since she talks about trying to destroy the shadow gate and pretty much wanting to go Inoioch's way of everything must be made undead. Both Frostling loyalty or Shadowborn could be the answer as both should leave the shadow gate around as for which I'm not sure as I did Frostling.
I think the canonical ending is that in which you side with frostlings and stay a loyalist to the queen. Both helping melenis or werlac will probably lead to the end of the world.
I don't think choosing shadowborn or grey guard at the end of map 2 makes any difference in the story, i guess they just let you try whichever spec you want. I chose shadowborn myself in map 2 and then killed werlac anyway.
edited title and posts.
ok.. will proceed to stay loyal to the queen then.
that means wiping out Melenis right? since she wants to destroy the world + the shadowgate.. which i'm trying to open.. that gate looks FREAKING AWESOME THO... can't wait to reach it.. still hell far away from it lol.
In order to side with melenis you need to reject werlac's alliance.
After a while she shoud offer an alliance to you at that point karl gets jelous at you and you are to remove karl by force.
Rejecting both is frostling ending.
I chose to ally with melenis, but i think the loyalist option has you kill both melenis and werlac. Not sure, but that would make sense. Also ham maybe allies with you because he's trying to do the same thing...?
Frostling loyalty means keeping Sanhild alive on her side quest, kill dwarf, kill Werlac, kill Melenis, and optionally kill Karl. Ham bone will stay at peace with you this route but I don't think he'll ally as he starts as friend of dwarf I think.
Can you please link the source? I'm very happy to hear that, makes me hope for yet another expansion with the shadow realm!
thx for the info
Glad to know it's officially confirmed.
There is something I found weird though: at one point, Sundren joins you as a hero, and yet she doesn't mention Werlac at all, and doesn't react when you ally with him :/
exatly this.. thus is why i wanna complete this story first and see where it is heading.
seeing the new remade/improved Shadow Demons, Merlin, Archons, and Dark Elves in another DLC/expansion would be like a kid shouting for candy again... they will be superb. hint: play AoW2, AoW2: SM campaign if you don't have a clue of what I'm talking about.
u means there's confirmation of another DLC??? could u provide the source please?? :O
There's no confirmation for that, they still haven't decided if we'll get more dlc.
Devs have said they are waiting to see how this DLC sells before making another one :)
cool... lets wait it out then...
Shadowborn being the cannon book choice however makes sense. Also Frostling Epilogue talks about seeing if Werlac's ramblings of power being there are true, plus the very fact that people have cannoncially kept abusing the remaing seals says there would be nothing stoping new natural gateways from opening now that Werlac resestablished a solid plain link.
