Elder Eldritch?

So I looked at the unit info page in-game and found what appeared to be a super Eldritch Horror called the "Elder Eldritch". Said unit seems to be practically T5 in terms of how powerful it is, and it has an ability no other unit has called "Something's Inside". Said ability has absolutely no info outside of the unit description, with its unit description saying "whatever is inside it will be released on death". After googling about this mystery unit, I couldn't find ANYTHING about it.

Any idea what it's used for? Is it a campaign boss? A unit to use for lulz in user-made maps? Or is it intended to be the first T5 unit, as a Sorcerer's unique ultimate unit in a future expac? Some insight would be nice :)

So...I got through the campaign on the Frostling path and never met one of these. Do they show up on another ending path?

Its very easy for the Elder Eldrich to get killed fighting Melenis before you ever see it, I only saw it in my first playthrough since it either ghoul cursed or age of deathed.

Though that whole thing really made me want to lol Werlac out of the map as Eldrich while cool is not a horror of wizard kings, the horror of wizard kings is the crab snake hybridism of the Rift Lord.

It does happen indeed, but there can spawn up to three, so maybe if you don't see one now you'll see 2 more soon :)

So what exactly does happen when one of them dies? That weird ability doesn't give any details and I doubt I'll ever get to see one up close given how badly Werlac plays against Melenis :P.

Another unit spawns. I don't know what pool that unit is chosen from. So far I've seen a blight boar and a grown spirit elemental.
