Let's Play AoW3 - Elven Court - without losing units! - Promised Lands

After successfully completing the "Council of Origins" its time to test ourselfes against the next mission. If you have missed the first one, here is the complete report:

But now the "Promised Lands" lie ahead!

I am really curious if we are able to master the second mission as well. The first is kind of a tutorial, so this one should be even more challenging!

So we accompany Reskar to the "Promied Lands" and on the basis of an ancient document we plan to take these lands for his Draconians and to - well - kill a lot of locals in the process. Clearly Sundren has a little different views on the Elven way than Julia :)

In this episode we meet Groshak and Iggi the Thug who in turns gets to know Sundren a little better than he might have liked, find some lost Elves and fight a lot of Goblins :)

In order to keep our troops together we have to leave captured cities undefended. So we have to stop enemy armies in the field or retake cities later on. Growing our army bei befriending animals might also help!

The Goblings are attacking our new Elven Cities, but despair not Reskar has a Golden Dragon on his side now.

But for now the focus is on Sundren. A lot of small armies threatening our main cities have to be dealt with and the first major battle of the mission lies ahead. Sundren and her ragtag army take on Shnaga and her horde of swarm darters. Fairy fire and shock bolts against poison darts!

Another epic battle lies ahead! So let's switch our attention back to Reskar and his stand off with Urlagh. We are outnumbered two to one but we have a dragon on our side. So nothing can go wrong, right?

Reskar is about to loose control on his part of the map. A lot of small armies outmaneuver his force and therefore a change of strategy is necessary. Find the capitals and deal with Urlagh and Shnaga there!

First we storm the walls of Urlaghs residence. A strong army backed by siedge engines awaits our attack. All goes well until Nomlik goes beserk!

Our first attampt to storm the walls gets rebuked and our mighty dragon has to limp away. Backed by a lot of healing power our forces recover and under cover of arrows, poison bolts and spirt rays the dragons lands on the wall for a second time. But still the defenders hold on...

Here we are again :) Finally the campaign continues!

It is time to deal with Shnaga! Let's hope Reskars forces are a little bit quicker this time :) so we immediately put our flying units on the walls and hope our Golden Dragon can overwhelm the defenders!

Reskar has to take back the Elven cities and Sundren is out treasure hunting! She finds some nice things, but a nasty surprise waits in a hunted tomb. Never underestimate the power of mass curse!

Our beetle production is getting under way and they should replace the weakest units in our main armies. Hope they arrive soon, otherwise I am going to lose an unit because of talking too much and beeing not focused enough :)

On the bright side our people are really happy, because our pockets are filled with gold and unit spotlights again: Draconian Crusher and Orc Apprentice.

There still is a lot to explore on this map and finally we meet our last opponent Lucien. It does not seem he wants to attack us, so in the proven and tested Elven way, we will bring the fight to him! ;)

Episode 19 and still no losses at all :) Hope we make it all the way trough!

But right now we have to deal with an invasion of the undead! We are getting attacked by an Archon army including a Titan. Meanwhile Sundren dares to explore another tomb.

A lot is happening in this eposide. Sundren is up against a Bone Dragon and Reskar finally enters the Ziggurat. This should be the most difficult battle in this scenario. Moreover there is a big battle against Lucien featuring mighty machines and in the caves we discover a dungeon guarded by a Shadow Stalker.

Mission finale! Sundren explores the last dungeon and Reskar has to deal with the forces of Lucien. Already looking forward to the Goblin mission and the new improved AI. Perfect timing :)
