Best units:
Tier 1: elven archers.
Tier 2: unicorn riders.
Tier 3: storm sisters.
Tier 4: eldric horrors.
My idea:
1 - Drac Charger(racial governance included)
2 - High Elf Mounted Archer
3 - Warbreed/Shadow Stalker (tough...)
4 - Golden Dragon
2. Elven Bards/ Mounted Elven Archer/Racial Tigran Supports/ Tigran war chariots
3. Warbreeds/Human Ghoul Knights/Shadow Stalker/Sphinx
4. Gold Dragon indeed, its the most expensive but the most buffing and delivering unit.
tier 2 - tigran support unit / Naga Guardian
tier 3 - Wraith King / Orc Warbreed / Shadowstalker
tier 4 - Elder Eldric Horrors (if you count only playable by enemy), otherwise potentially a hero (if that counts), otherwise Golden Dragon or Glutton
Best endgame tier 4 creature - Horned God - it is definition of OP unit:
- it has every second turn powerfull ranged attack which affects area on 7 hexes!
- it does not upkeep gold, but mana, so you can have more army
- one army (6) of these is able to beat much more enemies, especially AI (in fact i never loose a battle with these giants on my side, even against three heroes armies full of tier 4 creatures)
Eldric horrors are even better then horned gods.
Floating, cone of lighting(see: least risisted damage),dominate(mind control) and can beat all others tier four in a melee fight, and they have fearsome.
In short:
Eldric horrors are worthy of there name(unless the recently nerfed them again)
Tier 1: High Elf Hunter. An upgrade over the basic Longbowman in just about every way (survivability, mobility, utility) for just 5 gold more a pop? Where do I sign up?
Tier 2: Apprentice (but only when controlled by a Sorcerer leader). Three damage channels means these guys hit like a whole fleet of freight trains on anything that's incapacitated...and as supports under a Sorcerer, they get to inflict stun with their own attacks. Somewhat luck-based (if that stun fails to go off, you might be in trouble) but fun.
Tier 3: Shadow Stalker, but that's basically Tier 3.5 due to the way the Rogue works. Among the more traditional T3s, I'll have to give it to the Dread Spider Queen. Strong, tough, fast, with an immensely powerful Web ability and Fear Strike. If you have any way to control animals, never leave home without them.
Tier 4: Tigran Manticore with full Warlord upgrades. These guys frequently cause "wait, didn't I have a hero a moment ago?" moments thanks to high speed and Pounce. Nothing is safe. Ever. Failing that, the Golden Dragon is hideously expensive but oh so much fun thanks to a great combination of toughness, mobility and spirit damage.
Mine would be :
-all the tigran units.
or, depending on my mood
-all the draconian ones.
Thanks.
2: Golems, toughness of a T3 in a T2 body.
3: Shadow Stalkers, I dont usually play rogue, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ these things are insane to go up against.
4: Elderitch Horrors are pretty scary, basically a summonable dragon, but better.
Greater Penguins
Master Penguins
Emperor Penguins...
.... oh ♥♥♥♥, wasn't supposed to talk about the new Penguin race.
Tier 2: Some of the Tier 2 infantry/pike units, if supported by the right structures, can be really nasty. Giving Pikes +2 damage or Tigran prowlers inherent Cause Bleeding is rude.
Tier 3: Shadow Stalkers are special, of course. Bone Collectors are in theory really strong, but in practice they rarely get there. Human Knights with some structure and class upgrades are also mean.
Tier 4: Eldritch horror, gold dragon, and depending on your game version, Shrines of Smiting.
Tier 2: Human Priest
Tier 3: Human Knight
Tier 4: Archon Titan
Meanwhile, teach your eldritch horrors how to suck life (shadowborn) and they are truly unstoppable. And i mean it. a 6-pack vs 24 of just about anything and the horros come out victorious even if they lose half their numbers..
