Steam Users don't need a Key

No need for a key if you bought it on steam. You just have to link your steam and triumph accounts.

Click Register Key / DLC / Account Settings
Then you'll be asked whether you want to link your steam account. Click yes
If you clicked no or you don't get prompted you can link manually by clicking the Link STEAM Account button at the bottom of the new screen.

If at any time you have under Registered Products 'Age of Wonders' displayed you can just go back and press play to start the game. Some people reported having to restart the launcher.

Your Link STEAM Account button is greyed out after correctly linking.

On linking account. We are using a feature in the Steam API when we 'link' accounts. This gives us the option to verify ownership of products linked to the AoW3 game - i.e. the game and and linked DLC - nothing more, because Gabe wouldn't stand for it.

On the need for a Triumph Account. This is because we are running our own servers for online features. This makes it possible - for example - to have both Steam and GoG players to play together. It will also allow us to expand our online features in the future.

I can't connect, if I do it says: invalid username. But I can't register a username, whatever one I choose it says: username already exists. I checked my inbox, nothing in the spam folder. So: I can't create an account or link it. What should I do?

So, a few things that are unclear at the moment and that are hindering my purchase of the game as a Steam user:

• How will this whole Triumph account thing work with purchased DLCs? What if you shutdown servers a few years down the road? What if (certainly hope its not the case, but being realistic here), Triumph goes under?
  
• Do you have suitable protection in place to protect credentials and to protect against stolen accounts? Anyway a compromise on your end can lead to sensitive data being taken from the linked Steam accounts? How will you take responsibility for a breach?
  
• What personal data is required to set up a Triumph account? What is your privacy policy?
  
• Do you track or profile user data and if so; what type of user data? Can said data be shared with third parties?

+1 to what Rio said. This online registration requirement was not made clear when I purchased the game. I have absolutely no desire to expose my steam account to a 3rd party.

There is no link to steam, only the "Invalid Username"-message, if I klick the "Register Key ...". I only can play the game as a guest ...

I get an invalid username message when I click on the Register Key link. So, what now?

I successfully activated the game but when I try to register it says I need a key. There is no key. So how do I get the DLC for the pre-purchase?

Ditto. I click "Register Key/DLC/Account Settings" and I get an "Invalid Username" error. Same thing happens whether the Username field is blank or filled in w/ steam info. Trying to close the launcher then causes it to crash. Yay. W7 64-bit, port it wants to talk out of is unblocked. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary about my setup.

Why exactly do I need to create an account seperate from Steam for this game?

You need register a Triumph account first, activate it, and then click "Register Key/DLC/Account Settings".

I really think it would be much easier if the launcher automatically created a Triumph account with the same username as the Steam account and authenticated via Steam. GOG players would just register the normal way.

As for launcher crashing, I experienced the same problem.

i can play offline but can`t play onnline :( when i put register key i have massage my key is wrong lol, in "Register Key/DLC/Account Settings".
