on their own the expansions are a little underwhelming in terms of new content,
so I would buy both together.
The two expansions combined add a lot to the game.
Though,
Eternal Lords is probably my favourite of the two,
Necromancer is a really cool class
Eternal Lords on the other hand gives you a new Class; Necromancer, an arguable better campaign than vanilla campaigns, cosmetics, the Tigran playable Race, extra Treasure Sites with their own rewards(they also mix with Magic City) the Racial Governance system and a few other things I can't remember off-hand.
Basically you aren't missing anything aside from Magic City upgrades and Halfling Race if you skip the Golden Realms expansion. Personally, I grabbed Golden Realms for the Magic City Upgrade system. I couldn't care less about Halflings(always hated the tiny jerks) but the City Upgrades were what drove me to it because I really liked the concept and extra diversity.
Halfling race
Halfling Campaign and 2 scenarios
Wild Magic and Partisan specialisations
New victory condition with capturing Seals
Defensive city upgrades
Empire Quests
Mystical city upgrades
Naga Dwelling
Bunch of new units, treasure sites, and leader customisation
Eternal Lords:
Frostling and Tigran race
Necromancer class
Necro campaign and scenarios
3 specialisation based on alignment (good, evil, neutral)
Cosmic Happenings
Race Governance
New victory condition Unifier
Merfolk Dwelling
Bunch of new units, treasure sites, and leader customisation
yeah, but I'm not 100% sure how..you'd have to make an Ini yourself. Maybe a Dev could tell what should be in there...
Or you can turn them off in Steam.
You can go into your steam liberary(make sure it is detailed view)
Select age of wonders 3 and you shoud see a box with all the dlc currently active.
Disable those you dont want to use.
Update the game.
Dlc are now disable.
Want to reable them.
Reactive the dlc.
Update the game.
And the dlc are now enabled.
Intel: golden realms was release to keep us pleased while they where working on eternal lords.
So it is more of a mini expention.
@thriump studio's.
Hurry up and tell us what and when the next expention will be:
Chanting: we want new content, we want new content, we want new content(pretty please?)
Trust me, it's worth the full price. Why wait?
the real reason is coming from other thing... its because of heroes7 that i think to buy, but after the BETA its seems that the game status is half baked.
so i thought maybe i will delay my purchase with heroes7 ,and invest in AOW3:EL.
my wife will kill me if i buy H7 and AOW3:EL, but if AOW3:EL will get good sale like 50%~ its will be more reasonable for me to buy both of them...
**(i think in the end i will go with AOW3:EL because he is great and his develop team are very listening to their community)
so sweet..
what i am really like in AOW3 that he have 0 bugs for me, never crash never stuck or something like that, and his RMG is the best ever created.
