Hi Rarre, Perphaps the game picks the Integrated graphics card of your CPU instead of your dedicated graphics card?

You can chance this here:
1. Go to the nVIDIA control panel.
2. Go to “Manage 3D Settings”, “Program Settings”
3. Add “AoW3.exe” and “AoW3_debug.exe” on the drop-list and set the ‘Power Management mode’ feature to ‘Prefer maximum performance’.

Let me know if this fixes the problem!

I got 20 fps with setting at "low"
I coudn't find “AoW3_debug.exe” so i set te other three progrmas launcher editor and the core to ‘Prefer maximum performance’. I restarted computer several times but framerate still too low...

AoW3_debug.exe should be there. Please open / goto the installation folder, it might not be there in the initial list.

What's the framerate in the game it self? (Once you start a Random map for example)

Note: If this .exe isn't found in the Steam / AoW3 installation folder this means the game isn't properly installed.

AoW3_Debug.exe is in the installation folder. But i can't find it in Nvidia contrl panel. ANyway i have other computer were the game runs smothly and i can't find the debug in the nvidia contrl panel so the problem doesn't seems to be this. On the laptom the problem persist i am sad. Any idea to fix this?. I will try to reinstall...

thanks again

Hi Rarre,

Weird that the 'nVIDIA control panel' doesn't show 'AoW3_Debug.exe'. Not much we can do about that I'm afraid.

However, note that you only need to add 'AoW3_Debug.exe' to the ‘Prefer maximum performance’ list if you actually run the .exe. So that's only needed if you've checked the 'Run in debug mode' option under the 'Miscellaneous' tab in the 'AoW3 Launcher'. Please check that setting in the launcher and disable it if it's toggled on. If it was on, this will tell the driver to run the game on your dedicated gpu and likely give you the performance boost you are looking for.

Failing that, there's is the regular list of things to do to increase performance.
  • Disable mods in AoW3, if using.
  • Disable any hardware performance overrides in the 'nVIDIA control panel', such as force anti-aliassing, etc.
  • Customize graphics options in the AoW3 launcher. I.e. set 'Quality Mode' to 'Custom' and change settings one-by-one to find what runs well on your system.
  • Update graphics drivers.

There's more things to try, but these are the ones that are relatively easy to try.
You might also want to check if others with the same laptop are having similar issues. A couple of searches or visiting your favorite hardware nerd forum might do the trick.

I format HDD and flashed BIOS and the problem seems solved, now the game runs smotthly. I am now using the windows auto-drivers.
Thanks to everyone :^)
