Is it because there is no Triumph account?
Also is the save data stored in the computer or the Steam cloud? That might be a second reason why many newcomers want to have an online account secure instead of a guest account.
Even if you created a Triumph account, they won't let you play online with the Free version. You also cannot link DLC with the Offline only account. Non of your settings will save with the Offline account too.
Neither of these are true. You do not get asked to link your Steam account, and the button you're supposed to click in the second step is greyed out.
I would assume so. There's nothing to do there unless you have a Triumph account.
A 'no account found' message would have been more informative.
By default everything is stored on the PC. If you enable cloud saves, those will be stored by Steam using their back-end. No Triumph account required for cloud saves.
That is incorrect. Not being able to play online might be due to other issues, such as your connection not being 'open' for a p2p connection or an issue with your account.
That is incorrect. You should be able to play with any DLC you own - on the same platform, i.e. Steam game with DLC bought via Steam - independent of the account you use. We use your Steam account to check which products you own.
You can check in the top left of the main menu to see which DLC the game thinks you have activated.
Which settings are you referring to?
Also, the game saves settings in your profile, which is linked to the account you use. So if you switch between guest and triumph accounts each of those will initialize with its own settings.
@deepvybes, with the issues you are having, I'd advice starting a new discussion here on the Steam forum so we can help you work through them there.
That is odd. Typically that will only occur if an account was already linked. Are you having any trouble with the game due to this? If so, please contact us on aow3support@triumphstudios.com so we can sort this out.

Sorry to hear some are still having trouble playing.
Do need a bit more information to be able to help you all out. Might be worth starting new discussion - so things are less confounded - but I can try to help you here.
Main thing is I need to know the exact working or errors and the exact moment they occur at.
Could you post a screenshot with this error message?
My best guess - based on the information so far - is that your account hasn't been activated. To fix that:
If that is the 'Register' button under the text input field named 'Register Key', that's the key you don't need if you play on Steam.
Beside that button throwing an error, is there any other issue you have with your account? If so, could you give details on that?
As noted, you should be able to play MP. Can you tell us where you get stuck? Again, a screenshot would be lovely.
Can you tell me what is not working? Also:
Do you mean my Steam account? If so, not that I can think of other than some trouble with quest points last event. I do use Linux, and that results in me having to get any free games (including trial run times) through the client itself else it doesn't work. When logged into steam website through a browser, it thinks I don't have the client installed. So if you call that an issue?
BTW, do you devs still work on this game/take player suggestions? If so, where is the best place to post suggestions?
No, do you have trouble with your Triumph account. Anything we need to help you with so you can enjoy the game.
We do bug fixes. Perhaps some quality of life updates. But no updates are scheduled at the moment, with Planetfall and all that.
You can post here on the forum. Preferable in a new discussion, so we can link to that discussion if we go and make a ticket based on your suggestions.
