So when does this game get bad?
Played the first chunk of the game. Just past the point where it kind of opens up and you can take on side tasks. I'm loving the look and sounds of the game; it has a really well realised "space-trucker" vibe. The combat is responsive, the rig is satisfyingly large and lumbering, and the game seems well ported to PC as I've had nothing but buttery-smoothness on max settings.

trust me dude its not wroth it. remeber the Vital suits from the first and second game? Yeah? ok well......there are none.

and 98% of the game you wont be in it anyway. and you dont have a mini map or ammo counter either becasue you have to be close to the rig inorder to see them. Also the enemy of the game. not the planet life. The evil Nevec guys they dont show until the last 15 min of gameplay. the game can be akin to watching AVATAR [[blue people not the gay bender]] and stoping the move 5 min after the humans blow up the home tree.

weapon options are ♥♥♥♥ you have your default pistol an assalt rifle and "hunting" rifle a pulse rifle. a rivit gun and a shot gun. and you can make it on the assault rifle alone the upgrades are pitiful. enemy variation is a joke there are only 6 7 if you count human enemies at the end. and the story ends on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cliff hanger. The main guy although kinda likeable, is a complete moron. going into areas by himself without calling for back up. the grappling hook is a dumbed down clone of its original where you could grapple onto anything, now its just when the game says there is somthing to grapple on to.

If you're enjoying it now then keep going as you'll probably keep liking it.

if you can get your money back. thankfully i have contacts that enable me to play things for free for review perposes. I just cant get over how this game handles. only 1 rig no vital suits limited weapons. a ok yet stupid main guy. good soundtrack in the rig but half the time you cant hear the music cause the game wont let you hear it in most of the areas you can go to.

I don't really care if it doesn't feel like a 'Lost Planet' game because I enjoyed what it did rather than what it didn't do. Anyway Lost Planet already changed when they went from Lost Planet 1 to 2 and I didn't like 2 very much at all.

i didnt play 2 though

and sorry man im just disapointed in the game

Don't apologise for disliking a game, some folk like it, some folk hate it. It's all good :)

Honestly if you didn't like 3 you should probably try 2 if you like coop. I wasn't a fan of 2 because they changed it to a coop style monster hunter game from the single player experience of the first. However it has everything you like mechanics wise such as vital suits from LP1 so you might enjoy it if you don't like 3.

I can't say I'm at all bothered by the lack of true "vital suits". Lost Planet 1 I did enjoy at the time even though it did get up it's own Japanese butt by the end. The second game I thought was a total train-wreck, so I'm more than happy they tried a new direction. I guess I'm the only one that likes the more utilitarion big-rig mech in this game, but I guess I was the only one who despite liking the first game didn't come into this looking for that game all over.

The one thing I would have loved would have been a custom playlist on your rigs music player to let you play your own mp3s. If I had been able to do that I'd probably walk around for hours in my rig killing Akrid.

The good news is that it came to Steam (unlike Dead Space 3). Replete with Day 1 DLC even. I'll probably pick this game up once they get the kinks out. I have the first two games on my Xbox but it was one of those 'I'll-get-around-to-it' deals. I now have some incentive to play them. I like the change of direction for the Lost Planet series so far..

About 8 - 9 hours in, it starts to feel like gears of war...

Like every capcom game i've played since breakdown, the final part of the game takes 2 -3 hours... or more haahaha
