Is it necessary to play Lost Planet 1 and Lost Planet 2?
To understand the story of Lost Planet 3?

I'm guessing that it is not because it is a prequel. However there probably will be little things that would be more interesting if you played the other games.

yeah theres a few key things, like what thermal energy is, NEVEC, the outposts and VS's. Thermal energy is the power source, NEVEC is the contractor for the colonization of the planet and VS's are basically mechs. Probably much more stuff I can't remember right now though.

No. You won't need to play Lost Planet 1 OR Lost Planet 2 as it's a prequel to Lost Planet 1.

Here's everything you need to get up-to-speed on Lost Planet 3:

  • Giant bugs.
  • Snow pirates.
  • It's not Dead Space.

I dunno about you guys, but I'm pretty psyched for LP3. :)

It's simple. Play LP1 as it is brilliant game. Avoid LP2 at all costs, since it's so bad, so failed, raw and boring game (apart from "train boss") so it will kill your interest in the LP universe forever.

That's a mighty fine joke there.

That is not a joke my friend. Pity for you if you really liked LP2...
