Rematch with Crab Boss consistently bugs out

So in the first mission after you've gotten the upgraded Winch for your mech (The first mandatory mech upgrade), I've made it to the crab boss you have to fight again.

The problem? The boss seems to consistently bug out for me- it simply will not die no matter how long I fight it. This has consistently occured after about 4 re-loads.

I swear my last attempt lasted 20-30 minutes- he would not expire. I use up ALL of the ammo in the arena for both weapons- ALL of my grenades- and COPIOUS PISTOL CLIPS. And yet no matter what I do or how long I go, the boss simply won't die.

Is this a new bug? Is this rematch REALLY meant to take this long? Is there some silly environmental/Quick time event kill I'm missing? The guides I've read indicate there is no such requirement- and that he should go down in roughly the same amount of time that he did the first time. But he simply won't do so for me once the arms are gone.

Taking out his arms is no problem- those go down just as quickly as they did in the first fight against him... But once the arms are gone- he is invincible no matter how much I shoot his orange back. I just deplete ALL of my ammo stores and the ammo pickups into him to no avail.

That area on his back does seem to freeze over and un-freeze randomly without reason though, is that a sign he's bugged once his arms are gone, or is it just an unimportant visual effect?

Also- his movement seems to get glitchier and glitchier the longer the fight goes- as he'll start just randomly wasting his charge attack into a wall at a complete 90-degree angle AWAY from me... (The roar he makes when he starts charging also glitches when this occurs, interrupting itself as it is triggered too many times)

And sometimes his crashing animation will get stuck on top of me instead of go where its supposed to and almost kill me outright. :(

So yeah, anyone else have issues like this? I've searched the forum and it seems like its other bosses in the game people have issues with- not this one.

I just had this happen.
Two arms weren't a problem, then the armor wouldn't come off.
Same as you, kept freezing over, also unloaded everything, and the ammo boxes, nothing worked.

Tried restarting, rebooting, then i verified the game cache.
Were quite a lot of files missing.
Started it up again and on first go.
Two arms, tossed a grenade in it's mouth to speed it up abit, all pins gone, and took me like a few more shots to break it.
Didn't use all my ammo, or the boxes, like it's supposed to.

I had the same problema and it was fixed with a cache verification

Was literally just happening to me. Apparently tossing a grenade in it's mouth after you break off the first claw will get you past the glitch. It did for me at least. Good luck.

When are you tossing the grenade in? I tried it durin it screaming but i always closes the mouth, before I can toss it in.

Edit: Ok, you have to do it immediately after destroying a claw, didn't work for me though, it's still there, even after destroing both and throwing two grenades in its mouth.

Edit 3: xD Good, now I know the tactics, but it keeps pushing me in a corner and hits me twice and I'm dead, I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate that crab now.

Vertification, grenade in mouth.
Tried both in the same time, and it worked. I don't know which one actually take the effect though, thanks guys.

"Bugs" are in the game. Capcom told Spark to put them in. They did.

when I verified, I only had 1 file to reattain. Didn't seem to help. Grenade in the mouth seemed to do the trick.

I've figured out that if you don't throw nades into his mouth he is unbeatable. Plain and simple. A very bad mechanic.

I just kept shooting at it's back until it finally broke through the armor and exposed his juicy stuff.
It seemed to take forever.

I did notice the armor freezing over but I'm not sure yet what I can do to prevent it.
I thought maybe if I hit it with explosive rounds it would melt through but by that time I was out of them.

Anyway, I just used perseverance and he eventually went down.
There must be something I'm not noticing though - he shouldn't be taking that long to go down and the first crab encounters weren't that difficult.

With the grenade in mouth technique I had him down in 3 minutes flat. Earlier when I didn't kow about it I was fighting him for like 35 minutes. I was seriously upset lol
