Looking for help with video settings file
Hello everyone,

I am running into an odd bug in the game not allowing me to change any of the video settings. I've been toying with the ini files trying to force it by hand but it seems to be more complicated then I imagined.

So right now I am looking for a kind soul who can share his settings with me. The inis are located in [C:\Users\[WINDOWS_USER]\Documents\My Games\LostPlanetGame\LostPlanetGame\Config]. If anyone could set his settings to the highest values and share that folder with me I would be forever grateful, hopefully by inspecting the differences I can figure out how to set the options I want.

Thanks

What's your OS? Also when you edit the inis, make sure you set it as read-only afterwards.

I'm using Windows10 x64. Changes on the ini are staying there, but for some reason if I toy with the values of these default inputs the game settings show that everything is on low. I've tried both higher and lower values in LostPlanetSystemSettings.ini

PCTextureDetailDefault=3
PCWorldDetailDefault=3
PCShadowDetailDefault=3
PCTexturePoolSizeMB=256

On the other hand I've copied this from what seems to be the GamesCon show settings, DefaultSystemSettings_GamesConPCMax.ini

[SystemSettings]
bUseMaxQualityMode=True

Settings still indicate everything is on very low but the game seems to run on high. God only knows if really is on max or not.

It probably is max. The engine probably can't recognize the change in values that aren't actually in it's categories for low, medium, high, etc... I'd say it's defaulting to say 'low' because it doesn't know what else to tell you. It it seems to run on high, it probably is. If you are REALLY that curious, download a program that shows how much of your VRAM is being taken up. Try your game on the lowest default settings, and observe how much VRAM is being used. Then use your custom .ini file. If the VRAM is higher (it'll probably be a significant difference) then your settings are working, and the game is running at a much higher graphical level than when the game indicates.

I'll give that a shot, thank you very much for the help!
