Create a desktopdungeons.net account with the steam version?

Hi, just purchased the Steam version of the game and wanted to create an account on the website (to be able to play in the browser).
I have not been able to locate any type of account creation (with the exception of buying the game again).
I am most likely just missing something, could someone pls point me in the right direction?
Any advice will be most appreciated.

There is a login button ingame that lets you link your steam game to the desktopdungeons account. Not sure if I missed it before, or it only works for a specific login button, the one that worked for me was in the lower right corner after starting a game.

btw when you click on it and it only shows e-mail and password cancel it and try again untill you get two options.
Login or link steam account.

Click link steam account and it should take you to the webpage where you can use your e-mail instead.(if you dont want to link your steam account)

Not sure why it's heading straight to the account name/password screen - it should give you the option to create or link an account the first time you try to log in to DD.net. Maybe the button is getting clicked multiple times? (BTW: If your mouse is doing that, switch to right-click combat in-game, you'll prevent a lot of deaths that way)

Also, DD.net isn't essential to playing the game at all - it's just there so that you can sync your saves across multiple machines (and OSes) and play in the browser. It'll work for mobile too once those versions are ready.

Nowhere to simply register in game or on the website.
Just a button in game to link with Steam (you need to use this).

I had problems with the link screen.
In the end I think I may have found the issue with mine.
The family account.
When I went to link the steam account it forwards me onto a steam lon in page.
This is ok but after logging in I had to approve my browser (annoying).
Then I got the family PIN challenge.
Then just the community page.

After a few failed attempts I wondered what would happen if I entered the family PIN then went backwards in the browser to the steam login page.
I did this, entered my username and password and voila, I got forwarded to the desktop dungeons website to create a user.
There I had to enter an email address (used my gaming one, not the steam one).
Then I had to check my email.
This had a link to the DD site again to enter (create) a password,

Then finished

What a poor way to allow you to register.
Got there in the end though.
I think this way of registering needs some more thought.
I am certainly not turning off my Steam protection.


(Incidently, am running Win7 Ultimate 64bit and I use Chrome as a browser)
