Math seems wrong for priest vs undead melee damage?
In a fight with a priest against a zombie, a priest has a +100% melee damage buff against undead in effect. If I hover over the priest's damage icon, I see:
Base Damage: 35
Bonus: 30%
Total Damage: 45

The zombie currently has 146 health and hovering over it, I would do 80 damage, bringing it down to 66.

Where does this 80 damage come from? No matter what number I double, it doesn't give me 80. Zombies don't have damage resistance and I have no other gear or debuffs that should affect damage modifiers. This isn't the only example I've encountered where I do the math in my head and I should definitely win a fight in X exchanges only to lose in the end because I've off by a little bit out of nowhere.

Does anyone know what's going on here?

The only possibility I see is that the damage done is an average of my base and total damage after bonuses i.e.
(35+45)/2 = 40
40 * 2 = 80

But this seems pretty illogical.

The 45 damage you see as your default attack is (like all melee damage) calculated from multiplying your base damage (35) and your bonus damage (1.3x, as in 100% + 30%).

When attacking a Zombie, you enjoy another +100% damage bonus, bringing tour effective damage multiplier to 2.3x. Multiplied with your base damage of 35 it is rounded to 80 damage.
