Thoughts on the Original Game?
I just went back to playing v0.2 and I was surprised by how much more I liked it. Don't get me wrong, I was one of the first people to order (pre-order?) this game, back when it was through their website and it's a good game.

But v0.2 has a much cleaner to read art style, doesn't waste your time with loads of text, meta-progression, or overly long tutorial, and the UI/UX is /so/ much more player friendly.

It's a cleaner faster experience with far less fiddly clicking. I have RSI and I found it so much easier to play on just a physical level. Everything is on one screen. Everything is easy to calculate.

Plus the hub being a menu just works better for me. Much quicker to jump in and out of games and again everything is on one screen without sub menus to flip through.

Again, this is not hatred against the two newer versions, just a discussion of the differences and if anyone else noticed a sort of backward progression in art style and mechanics.

I wonder if the original version could be updated with new classes/races or if that would undo the experience.

Edit: I should add there is Meta Progression, but it's much more of a Smash Bros new characters than the modern slowly being drip fed the rest of the game or getting buffs to make you stronger over time simply by playing more and more.

The alpha was amazing, especially from a Visual presentation/clean/UI point of view, I agree there. I had played it a heck ton of hours I remember. With that said, for people wanting loads of content and meta progression the go-to version remains this, the normal full release of the game.

And if you thought that the GUI is getting bad in the normal version of the game, then you will be shocked to see the 3d remaster of the game, which is by far the worse thing ever made in terms of clean presentation and UI/UX elements. Horrendous is an understatement. A completely unnecessary remake that actually makes the game look worse instead of better.

Yeah some people just think 3D = looks better for some reason. And then they say the games aged poorly 10 years later haha

Haven't tried the remake because I was worried about that

I think both are fun, just get more used to the enhanced edition.
