Curious about co-op

Hi just wondering exactly how does co-op work in a game like this? I've been itching for a racing game to play with a friend and happend to see this one had co-op, but was just curious how that works. Thanks!

Basically you select multiplayer then select coop career. You and a freind take any team of your choice and race as them throughout the season !!

Ah okay. Now does it work like we both have to play each race together or is it a point thing at the end of the championship where it tally up our points at the end, played together or not? If that makes sense.

you both race each race amd you cant do coop on your own !! Points are kept up to date at the end of each race !!
