Why I May Skip Topspin 2k25 and Stick with Tiebreak
Now I have not played Topspin 2k25, but there are several things I'm seeing that I believe Tiebreak does better and why I may skip Topspin 2k25 atleast until it goes on sale.

1st - According the videos and the tutorial within Topspin 2k25, "hitting the ball with perfect timing will give your shot power and precision." Now for me, I don't want my shot power or precision tied to "perfect timing." Based upon what's happening on the court, I especially like to have control of powering up my shot "without" the need of being "perfect" every time. I believe they have the option to turn the meter off, but even still you'll always be wondering if your shots are being hit by "perfect timing." If Topspin 2k25 truly changed to this mechanic vs Topspin 4 in which you previously held a button down to power up your shot like here in Tiebreak, me personally Tiebreak has the advantage.

2nd - I'm really looking now at Topspin's 2K25 various costs and various editions to buy and it's pure greed. Alot of it is built around cosmetic stuff under their "All Access Pass" to sale outfits and rackets. Tiebreak gives us a customization tool to design our own outfits. With Tiebreak, we can create venues, players and logos. Although not perfect, I think when Tiebreak adds people into the created venues and they fix the issue of not being able to play with alternate outfits, that will be awesome. Getting all this control for $32 vs paying $119 plus USA dollars? I'm just feeling this game more right now.

3rd - Some of the sounds and player animations I'm seeing in Topspin 2k25 are bad. How they managed to make Andre Agassi look worst now than in Topspin 4 is beyond me. John McEnroe's hair in the game is hard to look at. Some of the grunts they have in Topspin 2k25 are ridiculously bad. I'm just not seeing stuff like this in Tiebreak. Tiebreak's animations are not perfect right now, but much better than at launch. The players now push off, so foot planting is there and plays an important part within the gameplay. If Tiebreak cleans up player movement a bit, ties the player speed to one button, drops us a ball speed slider like the community is asking for, this game literally will be better than Topspin 2k25 in these areas. I'm really impressed with the pro player models in this game we have been given thus far.

4th - Overall, Topspin 4 was an awesome game. We all know that. However, I think Topspin 2k25 is riding that gravy chain of hype from 13 years ago and fooling people into getting their latest version through a clever marketing/micro transaction scheme. It's going to be a good game, don't get me wrong, but in comparison to this game... in my opinion Tiebreak is probably better. Tiebreak gives us the option to create and share. I like to keep control of powering up my shots without worrying about "Perfect Timing." I think the tennis players we are getting (not so much the ones we create) represent the likenesses of the pros better than Topspin 2k25. The crowd variations and reactions are represented well in this game (even though the crowd sound needs be increased). I really like this game and not liking some of the things I'm seeing in Topspin 2k25 at launch products. I'm looking forward to seeing what Tiebreak's career mode will look like. But if Tiebreak can clean up a few major issues like the LT/RT thing, the unrealistic way the ball bounces at the net and how the AI plays it, the size of the ball and speed of it with a slider, the low crowd sound and being able to use alternate outfits without setting them as the default, I can actually see myself skipping Topspin 2k25 at launch and maybe, just maybe all together.

This game is more a "testing the waters" situation, people have been begging for a remaster for many years, that's pretty much what 2K have done. If it sells well, then I imagine more money will be allocated for the next iteration. As things stand, TopSpin 2K25 looks more enjoyable gameplay wise compared to how Tiebreak currently is.

If they do somehow turns this game around as time goes on, well then that'll at least be good for some competition and hopefully developers on both sides don't get lazy, but unfortunately Big Ant has a reputation for moving on pretty quickly to their next projects, so we'll have to see how this one goes. They've still yet to release the early access for Rugby 24 as well, so more focus will be on that too.

I hope not, but you may very well be right about them moving on to other projects. Tiebreak's Early Access doesn't mention any upcoming additions/updates outside of May of this year. I think they're next update will say alot about the state of this game. Hopefully the developers on both sides of these games won't get lazy which will make for some good competition like you said.

Ye you are right, but topspin seems unfinished, career mode the exact same, small roster and more bad things, 2k should know if they want to make a lot of profit they can't be lazy which they have been.

I think it could be a good game but the gameplay must be simplified to move our player and adjust our strokes

Top Spin 2K25 is currently in the early access phase as far as we have seen.. Poor roster, poor models, etc..

VC confirmed too which means if your character needs new shoes, expect to pay real world prices for them 😂

I’ll still buy, but the standard edition and at 80% off after the US open.
