Serving is really bad
It's a huge part of tennis, but it's an afterthought in this game. There is practically no difference in first or second serves. You don't need to manage risk because it's so damn easy to stop the timing bar at the right time. You can hold a direction down all the way and still not hit a serve out, it's baffling.

System needs a total rework
- First - remove the zoom on serve... serves no purpose
- change the power to a power bar to set your power
- Use the face buttons to stop the meter, each face button = a different serve type. A=Power, B=Kick X=Slice. Having to cycle serves using the bumpers is very strange
- Add a placement marker so you know the general area where your serve is going. Risk + Power + player serve stats = result

It's really not rocket science. Serving bores me as it is. I haven't hit a single ace in 5 hours play time. You cannot launch a tennis game with such poor serving mechanics.

I agree serves are awful and boring, i would also prefer a power bar and aim maker and rarely hit aces. Plus AI never miss first serves or make double faults, which is boring.

We agree that serving system is awful. So difficult hit aces. :(

Please incorporate AO Tennis 2 controls. It is the best. Atleast add this control as a optional.

I agree. Service game needs attention. Here is a possible solution that uses the left and right trigger stick.

Left Trigger+current setup = Increased risk reward for placement, hitting lines, slicing wider, kicking higher, but increases risk of faults.

Right Trigger +current setup = increase service speed and kick (which is desperately needed, especially for the ATP men).

Both Triggers pressed+ current setup = Speed and placement but also the highest probability of a fault, especially if timing is off.

Additionally, there should be let chords (which is currently missing) that result in faults and red-os.

A flat body serve should also be a useful tactic.

Ideally, these controls should work with a confidence/nervousness system that fluctuates during the match and key moments.

Personally, I think the shot meter should work closer to the free throw meter in NBA 2k. When confident, it hold be easier to time the serve than when in high pressure situations. This would allow the player to make choices of how much risk they want to place on their serve. I want more feedback how close to perfect I hit the ball.

Hope this might help in some way.

Serving is by far the worst part of the game. It's insanely boring know you cannot ace at all beyond medium, choosing a serve type is useless and ineffective. You hit 210k serves that feel like nothing to return.

Please devs, go play/watch Full Ace and give us a similar system. Even the shot stick in Top Spin is fun.. but this is by far the worst serving of any tennis game.

If rallies are going to be long, you need the quick points too... a realistic amount of aces and doubles, nothing crazy.

yes a placement marker for the service would be great a bit like full ace simulator

Totally agree! I hope the developers are listening and will actually acknowledge a change is coming to the serve system in an upcoming update to give us some hope and to put this topic to rest. It is a huge drawback at this time. Come on devs, can you please give us something and just don't have us to keep waiting and complaining on this? Thanks!
