Keep in mind that it's just an emulator, and it's not even close to being finished. Whether or not someone cares (or dares) to bring out a private server for the same old experience has yet to be determined, though it is fairly likely that someone will risk it in a country that doesn't care about the legal ramifications of doing so - however, I do lean to the side that most game companies are beyond caring about trying to shut down things like this. Blizzard tried and failed many times and finally did what all of these servers wanted them to do in the first place; bring back the classic experience. It's definitely more profitable to not fight with these people and just appeal to what they want instead.
No one has made a thread about it here in the past month so I'm not late to anything. People have still been posting in the "bring the game back" thread almost daily so I don't think it's a bad idea to spread the info. If they can bring it back close to original game remains to be seen but at least there's some hope now.
Why does it inconvenience you so much that I made a thread about it? Who the hell does it hurt if this thread exists? It's a dead forum of a dead game, chill out.
There's no party to be late for, no one has made a thread and someone should have. You're just angry for no reason.
The story is that it's just an emulator and it only uses and requires the files for the game when you choose to run it, the emulator doesn't use any of those files by itself since it's reverse engineered and created from scratch. Also there is another Disney/Marvel game currently running for free called Marvel Super Hero Squad Online, which is used as a precedent that Disney ultimately won't do anything... which I personally think is a bit different since it was created to be run for free at the start, but I'm not an expert, I'm just the devils advocate that thinks being cautious is not a ridiculous idea. I would have waited until the emulator was completed and released to the net before talking about it, but that's just me I guess.
Marvel Avengers Alliance (Old popular FB game) isn't far off from being finished, and they haven't received a C&D. Superhero Squad Online is up and running again, hypothetically speaking they're the ones most likely to get in trouble with Disney, but alas they don't care and they're still going. Those are just two examples out of numerous other Disney IP's that are up and running.
If the emulator gets an *INSANE* amount of attention, probably way more than the total player count for MHO, then Disney may interfere because they need to protect their IP - it's just business. But even so, this would blow smoke up their butt to actually reboot the game officially or we would get a sequel.
not only that they most likely see messages about bringing it back. did they? no instead we got all those mobil app games. the marvel puzzel quest game, the card game, ultimate alliance 3 . marvel avengers guardians the lego games and whatever else . they wont bring it back
That was probably the most chaotic chill fun i had.
