I called it almost a year ago!
I said on their forums, which I was banned from right after, that this game would be lucky if it lasted another year. Tying character power directly to prestiging and Gs was several nails in their coffin. Almost my entire SG(39 players) quit within a week of this announcement. Then we all find out about their CEO being a sexual predator. Yeah, that was the absolute end.

Disney does not mess around when it comes to their IP and their morals clauses. The simple fact that Dave Dohrmann renamed himself to Dave Von Dorman to hide his past was the end of Marvel Heroes at Gazillion Games, and the end of Gazillion by extension.

I hope future game companies take the example made of Gazillion Games into account when they use a Disney IP.

I wonder if Doomsaw knew he was single handedly destroying Gazillion games when he outed Dave Von Dorman. Oh well, it had to be done, Gazillion was running MH into the ground anyways.

Thank you Doomsaw, seriously, thank you.

I called it ever since I saw the BUE on the test centre. I actually started having my doubts when I saw the Hela Nerf, because I knew that the devs wouldn't stop there, with swinging the nerf bat.

The fan boys laughed me off the forum, told me I was wrong, threw insults around left right and centre, defended the game to the hilt, and now...

They are silent...

They are the 'vocal minority'.

What's pissed me off, is that those same fan boys, are partly the reason why the game failed. People like myself were buying content. I spent about $1500 on in game content, while the same fan boys who laughed at me, played the game for free, and didn't spend a penny in game.

It's partly their fault for not spending anything, for the reason why the game has died now.

It's not free players fault at all. Not even in the slightest bit. It is Gazillions fault for promoting a sexual predator to CEO. Disney has some of the strictest morals clauses of any IP owner. As soon as this information started circulating Marvel Heroes was done.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moQj3JiGI5U

The info in that you tube video was all over the subreddit, the official forums, and youtube videos. The fact this guy is a scumbag and sexually harasses employees is the primary reason Gaz lost the license. Secondary is that Disney wasn't happy at all with the dissension of the games playerbase because Gaz couldn't keep a single promise they ever made to us.

The game didn't shut down for financial reasons. It shut down because of morals and failure to keep the playerbase happy.

If that were true, they wouldn't close the company though and sever all ties to the business because the CEO is a kiddie fiddler.

They would just hang him out to dry and appoint a new CEO.

There's more to it than Doorman being able to keep his ♥♥♥♥ in his pants.

They only had one game making them money, of course they would close the company when they have NO money making products left. Any company would.

I didn't say that they wouldn't.

I said that they wouldn't close the business just because the CEO can't keep his ♥♥♥♥ in his pants.

Whats the point of appointing a new CEO when the company has NO PRODUCTS TO MAKE MONEY ON. It's not that hard to understand is it?

And putting all those people out of there jobs just before Christmas...Bravo!

Yeah, it sucks, but what is a company supposed to do when they have NO income? Take out loans to pay people to do nothing for a month or two? LMAO, no.

I realize the CEO's alleged behavior touches on an issue that's hot right now, but if you don't know anything about business please don't state your opinion as fact and potentially make other people dumber. Gazillion went bankrupt. You know, the old fashioned kind where they completely ran out of money. Unless the company has recently paid out a huge number of unreported settlements to women who accused the CEO of harassment, that's not why they went bankrupt. Hell, even if they did pay some settlements it shouldn't have bankrupt the company if the company was financially healthy. And there's the real answer: the company was doing very poorly financially.

Maybe that was the result of mismanagement on the part of the CEO and the rest of the executive team. Maybe the very reasonable gamble of porting MH to consoles just didn't work out. From what I can see as an outsider it looks like a combination of both. Just please don't make the assumption that because you see the world through the lens of social justice, the world actually revolves around that. Dave Dohrmann may well be a truly reprensible person but that's not the reason the company went out of business. The fact that he's apparently very bad at business is the reason they went ouf of business.

Except, that's not why. Gazillion lost the IP in October. And bringing it console is why it lasted to Ocotober otherwise MH would of ended 6 months before that.

@ TribalSage: They got the IP pulled because of the CEO being a sexual predator, IN OCTOBER.

@ FXDS: No, they haven't actually filed bankruptcy as of yet. If you don't know anything about business please don't state your opinion as fact and potentially make other people dumber. They are shutting down because they have NO INCOME after Disney pulled their contract. I am sure they will be filing bankruptcy, but as of right now they have not done so.

From my understanding he owned a controlling interest in the company. Meaning he had more stock shares then the other shareholders and could simply vote not to remove himself.
