Black Screen Bugs

Please post any reproduce-able instances of the notorious black screen bug in this thread. Additionally, please provide as much details about your PC and what was occurring when the bug happened.

Last time I had the bug happen was when I went into the "controller" options in the menu.

When I open the game I get no screen signal and no sound. I can only close the game using ALT + F4 and can't play at all. I have verified local files. I have thought about uninstalling and reinstalling from scratch but I don't want to lose 30 hours of gameplay.

Pier - The save file is located in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\NomNomGalaxy

If you copy the contents of that directory to another place you can reinstall the game without having to worry about losing anything.

So I deleted the settings.dat and I could start the game in windowed mode.

As soon as I switch to fullscreen I lose video and audio.

In 1.0 I still can't choose 1920 x 1080, and the only resolution available is 4096 x 2160. My screen is UHD (3840 x 2160) and Windows is running at 1920x1080 so I really don't know where the game is getting the 4096 resolution from.

I've just bought the game, I installed it on a Surface 3 Pro (i5 4GB of RAM).
After created the company and started the campaign the screen goes black right away. I've restarted the game many times with the same result. At the end I've decided to delete the company and create new one then it worked.

Now I'm reluctant to play because I fear to go ahead in the game and then having the black screen which would force me to erase the company again.

I hope you'll find a definite solution soon. Unfortunately my save game wouldn't be useful, because I deleted the company.

Getting the same issue, the game boots to the menu fine, but when i try to launch a mission, the game boes black, with only the music playing, Ive treid deleting my corp and starting a new game, but the same thing happens. Shame, i figured sine its out of early acess it would actualy work. Guess i'll have a refund instead.

Please be sure to include the frequency of occurrence and whether or not you were able to reproduce the bug in your report. If the bug occurs during multiplayer, please also include whether or not the bug (or a different bug) occurred for the other player(s) as well.

Was just able to replicate creating the bug. While playing the game I went into the menu, then controls and when I hit "control map" the screen goes black.

For my input I am using a Sony Dualshock 4 over Bluetooth and InputMapper which is a program that tricks your computer into thinking the DS4 is a 360 controller. I could not get the game to recognize the DS4 on its own. It would accept a button press for "Press any button" at the start but nothing else after that.

We don't have native PS4 controller support because it requires DirectInput, which our engine doesn't support. Hopefully Sony will hurry up and release some proper DirectX drivers for the DS4, because I think we all know that's the superior controller!

Resolution is 2560x1080. I cannot modify the resolution in settings.
Black screen as a soon as I want to enter the *any mission.

One time it black screened when I clicked corporate conquest, about 70% of the time when I click on the tutorial level, and 100% of the time when the ship is crash landing. Yes reproducible (I've tried many many times). Also, when rendering the game on the level select screen there seems to be some slight static on the upper half of the screen.

I get it everytime I sent a rocket up into the attacking aliens ship

Happened a dossin times during various multiplayer games. Sometimes after a player had joined other times when it shifted to a new day. Also seemed to be random.
Got it during single player mode when enemy attacked once I had reched 95% mark. Started attacking enemy with saw and it went black. Not sure of the actual cause.

For me it happens when i press alt-tab , to change from program when i'm playing full screen , it happens all the time and i'm sure that for me it is what make the black screen happen .
