Maybe another game that uses the UE3 engine messed it up? I'll see if I can find out as I didn't install that many games after Alien Breed...
I have the same problem with L4D2 one time, try locate the binaries of game and apply "compatible mode" and try run again. Make sure that don´t have any "update system" recently, sometime the automatic update of Windows make hard problems with GPU´s drivers or directplay. see ya!
Go to your Control Panel --> Programs --> Programs and Features --> Uninstall Program --> NVIDA PhysX
Instead of uninstalling it, REPAIR NVIDA PhysX. It takes a seconds, but when I tried playing Impact and the second one, they were both fixed.
The game seems nice too :D. Finally I can play it!
