HELP! No sound!
I downloaded the demo. When I first start the game, Steam helped me to install DirectX 9.0c or something (my own DirectX is DirectX 11), but it failed. Then the game started. Everything worked just fine, except the sound - absolutely no sound at all. Changing settings wouldn't work. I downloaded DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft official site, and installed it. And the game is still mute. Every other DirectX game has normal sound performance, except Worms Reloaded. Please, help me out here. What the heck should I do?

Sorry to hear about this.
To try and resolve this issue, I recommend the following actions:

(Undo any changes that you might have made using the ‘Set Launch Options’ tool in Steam)

  • Follow the steps below to verify the integrity of the games cache. This should resolve any local corruption faults:

    1. Load Steam
    2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
    3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
    4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
    5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
    ___________________________________________________________________________

    1. Launch Steam
    2. Click on the Steam option in the top left of the window
    3. Choose Settings
    4. Navigate to the Account tab
    5. Find the Beta Participation section of the Account tab
    6. Check that this is set to 'not participating'
    7. If you are participating, please hit the Change button and amend accordingly

    1. Disconnect any headphones or Bluetooth connections that you might have to your machine.
    2. Double check your ‘Playback Devices’ and make sure that your speakers are set as the default device. (Right click on the sound icon in your Windows task bar to find the Playback Devices menu)

(If the issue persists please do a full re-install of the game)

Two years ago I did play a bootleg Worm Reloaded (downloaded elsewhere) for several days. Back then everything worked fine, including the sound performance. So I really don't know why the same game have this problem now.

I solved the problem! I downloaded the DirectX 11 setup file and I installed it. Now I have sound! I have Windows 10 64bit and the dxdiag.exe command says that DirectX 12 version is installed on the PC, but don't care about this, install version 11.
