Sorry to hear about this.
To try and resolve this issue, we would like to recommend the following actions:
1. Undo any changes that you might have made using the ‘Set Launch Options…’ tool in Steam.
2. Follow the steps below to verify the integrity of the games cache. This should resolve any local corruption faults:
- 1. Load Steam
- 2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
- 3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
- 4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
- 5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
3. Ensure that you are not currently participating in the Steam Beta:- 1. Launch Steam
- 2. Click on the Steam option in the top left of the window
- 3. Choose Settings
- 4. Navigate to the Account tab
- 5. Find the Beta Participation section of the Account tab
- 6. Check that this is set to Not participating
- 7. If you are participating, please hit the Change… button and amend accordingly
4. Disconnect any headphones or Bluetooth connections that you might have to your machine.5. Double check your ‘Playback Devices’ and make sure that your speakers are set as the default device. (Right click on the sound icon in your Windows task bar to find the Playback Devices menu)
6. Attempt a full re-installation of the game.
If the issue is persisting after attempting all of these actions, please let me know and I'll do my best to assist you further.
Thank you,
BenTeam17
Glad to hear we're making progress.
If setting your default playback device has allowed audio through your speakers, the same treatment might work with your headphone. Please try step 5 (from above) again, but this time set your headphones as the default.
Thanks,
BenTeam17
Hmmm, that's very strange. Might be that the audio is trying to put itself out through the wrong port. Could be worth re-trying with your headphones connected in different sockets. In fact, plugging it into the one that your speakers are currently plugged into would be a good test.
If it still doesn't work, let me know and I'll have more of a think on it.
Thanks,
BenTeam17
