[Multiplayer] No Cross Platform Support (Version Error)
The game cannot be played PC vs MAC (You will get a version error if you try.) I'm not asking for my money back but it should be somewhere on the steam store page. Its very important to know if my MAC friends, that I bought the game for, could play with me and my PC friends.

Please add this information to the store page. That is all I ask.

Hi turtle.panda, Worms Reloaded does not support cross-platform play. Any games that support this feature will list 'Cross-Platform Multiplayer' in the right-hand store information panel. There's a list of games which feature cross-platform multiplayer here: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?os=mac&category1=998&category2=27#category1=998&category2=27&advanced=0&sort_order=ASC&page=1

Thanks, this is good to know. A friend of mine was trying to connect to my game (they could see that I had sent them an invite and they could click it) but they got this version error when trying to connect. It took a while to diagnose, and eventually we found this page. I suppose it will not work from Mac to Linux either.

Why not to make a crossplay??

Just because it *doesn't* support cross platform multi-player doesn't mean that it *shouldn't*. I am surprised to see that it doesn't and disappointed that I would also not be able to play with friends running Microsoft Windows.

Yes, I'm happy to see that it works on linux, but unfortunately (for now) the majority of the people are running windows and for a game which has it's higher value in the multiplayer, not being able to play cross-platform sucks. Will you consider adding this feature in the feature?

I had purchased this game with for the sole purpose of playing this cross platform, as most devs actually did that. If this wasn't on sale when I got it, I'd be pretty disappointed with both myself and Team 17. Hope better choices are made when Linux support finally comes around for Clan Wars.

i originally bought this game to play on a mac and didnt realize it wasn't cross-platform. Since then I have still enjoyed playing it on my older laptop and have currently logged over 200 hours. This game is GREAT!

Yeah I bought this game hoping I'd be able to play with my PC friends, and did not realize that was not possible until it was too late. It's really unfortunate because finding a multiplayer game on Mac is impossible. Online is dead for Mac users.
Also the DLC doesn't work with Mac users. Didn't realize that until I purchased it all. I need to be sure I do my researdch before throwing my money around

It would be nice if I could play PC vs MAC :world:. I will wait for this feature.

No cross platform multiplayer is weak...
Ah well, guess I won't play it with my friend after all.

So, how come part of the protocol support cross platform communication, such as invites? When the games/rooms are not hosted locally, Why not do something about the server software of a cross platform multiplayer software? It is after all, one of the most expensive Worms games on steam.

Should there be any reason for a windows, linux or mac client, to output differences in server communications, unless any incompatibility relies on server.

My guess is that they used something very dependant on Windows the first time around, and tied a bunch of game functions into it. Even so, it is a pretty big let down. I wouldn't have even bought this title had I known there was no cross platform multiplayer.
