Audio cuts out every time I join a lobby

I got the game yesterday and played multiplayer with my friend for a few hours and everything was working fine, but today when I play everything starts fine but as soon as I join a lobby whether it be my own or a friends all the game audio cuts out, I tried reinstalling but that did nothing, anybody know any way to fix this?

So; typically the way to fix this when games do this is you go into your sound control panel (right click audio icon in system tray, select "sounds") and then go to the "communications" tab and check the "Do nothing" radio button. This is called "audio ducking" when a program gets to lower your sound when it thinks it needs to be heard better. However, this hasn't fixed the problem for me, nor has setting the game to win 7 compatibility mode. Hopefully it might fix it for one of you though.
