how much of this game is made with AI?
apparently the game executable is called ai project, I think the game looks cool but if devs are so lazy they use AI to make most of their game, why support it with money.

The name AIProject is just the name of the unreal engine project. Everything inside the game is made by humans. The name AIProject was just a name for testing enemy behavior and then it turned into Tyrant's Realm.
thank god
Thanks for the answer, that was my concern as well and if this is the case, I'm definitely getting it.
i dont get what you meant with that. be it for coding or even art generation you wouldnt get consistent quality to make a game like this without pouring a good amount of effort into it even with ai.

This is a bold statement when the banner picture is clearly Ai generated, not saying the game is but it doesn't help the suspicion. The game is great regardless but I hope you can make an official statement regarding this, thanks.

Honestly I don't understand the gripe against AI. It's a tool. Are you offended because they use Unreal Code Blocks, or a compiler instead of coding the game with pure assembly?

Are you irritated when someone uses Unreal or Unity or Godot instead of writting their own engine? Are they lazy for using a tool that multiplies their work and allows them to do things they couldn't before?

AI is just a tool that accelerates development.

If the argument against is that AI is trained on other people's work, you haven't been paying attention to any artform. Everyone copies everyone elses work and takes inspiration from it. No work is 100% original. The same argument of "stealing work", "lazyness", "not art" etc was used when photography came along... Can you imagine a time when photographers weren't considered artists and were accused of stealing other people's work?

Anyway, getting all rilled up is useless anyway... people who make stuff will not avoid using tools that allow them to execute their work better and faster.

The dev team stated in another discussion thread that the store banner is not their choice. Their publisher decided on that, and they have no control over it.

oh no, I believed you. I meant the fact that the publisher has the only say on the banner
So there's zero chance in your mind that a contractual stipulation could exist that determines who has final say in marketing media?

You're arguing with someone who apparentlly is passionate about AI not being in their games, when it's almost certain they consume tons of media (including games) where they don't know AI is being used but it is. And in about 18 months they won't be able to tell at all if what they are consuming in visual media is or isn't AI generated.

So it's a very weird hill to die on (even if the argument has merit, which personally I think it doesn't) and shows they aren't very rational. Pointless to have an argument with someone who is passionate without reason.

Go ahead buddy, copy one of Vermeer's painting for me, I'll cut you some slack and let you paint digitally -- in Photoshop, for example. Or get inspired by Bernini and copy his style by sculpting a detailed study of a male or female figure. Again, I'll let you "accelerates development"! You don't have to invest in a giant block of marble and a set of chisels, so feel free to make it in Zbrush or some other 3D sculpting software... Wait, what's that? YOU CAN'T DO IT?! You don't have the knowledge, nor skills, not to mention the talent to do so? Or am I not supplying you with the proper tool? You know, the one that would generate it all for you, allowing you to "execute your "work" better and faster"?

And don't even start with your low IQ argument involving photography -- I know that your entire experience with the camera comes from the tapping on the screen of you smartphone, whilst trying to hold it relatively steady. But drawing a parallel between (especially early) analog photography and providing a couple of keywords into stable-diffusion generator of you choice, is literally so run-of-the-mill, dumb argument, that you should consider chatGPT to generate your internal stream of consciousness for you. Again, none of those thoughts are gonna be 100% original, but maybe they will be less ret♡♡♡ed.

Long essay from someone who doesn't have reading comprehension. You should read more, and write less. I'll let you parse and figure out what I wrote a little longer.

Meanwhile. if you are a "no-AI zealot", live by your words and turn off your computer, get off the internet. Because I have news for you: over 30% of the code running software you are using is written by AI that "OH NO", "copied" someone else's work by scraping github.

Deal with it, loser. Get off reddit and go look for a brain.
