A list of differences/additions to this version are below:
-Redrawn art assets for HD resolution.
-The game now opens with a prologue that was originally exclusive to the Japanese demo for the original release.
-The protagonist is fully voiced in this version (was unvoiced in the original).
-There are a variety of QoL updates to this version, such as adding a scene skip button, and rehauling the investigation segments (in the original game, you were only allowed to investigate crime scenes for a limited amount of clicks before it kicked you out of them entirely, this version allows you to take as much time as you'd like with them), the endings list now shows you how many endings you're missing, etc.
-New OP movie (song is the same)
-Features a different translation from the MangaGamer release of the original Kara no Shoujo.
Due to most of these factors, The Shell can be considered to be the definitive version of the game in terms of additional content and adjustments, and thus I would recommend you get this over the original Kara no Shoujo.
