I suggest you start with a monthly sub first, just to try and see if you like it tho.
Oh and by the way, steam release haven't been announced, and even if it was, you should only be able to download the launcher by Steam.
Subscription and membering would still require going on the official site as normal.
So I suggest you go there directly without waiting for steam release.
1. Purchasing using Steam wallet would easily allow children to enter an adult +18 game, so I think that using the official site to manage the subscription would be the more reasonable way to prevent this.
2. There are a lot of games on steam that are accesible via other launchers or platforms, so I see nothing strange in this. More than that, even being able to access the game by Steam would significatively increase sales.
3. He asked for a release date, I told him what I know (Or think I know) about it.
4. Do I look like a member of the 3DXChat team? What you're asking is non of my competence, and for what it concern the treath of minors accessing the game... I'd strongly prefer to buy the subscription only by the official channel.
Other than that, I said that the game is already playable, so you too can try it out.
The payment is processed by BMT so it's secure, and for what concern the release date or the game being on Steam, I only say what I know.
Using the steam wallet is surely easier, other than that, I'll reply to you copying and pasting my previous answer:

And to close this conversation, I'll simply make you note that I mentioned a personal preference, not a super secure way to prevent kids from entering.
That, as I already said: It's none of my competence.
1. AGE. The User agrees that he/she is over 18 years of age (or 21 in some states, or the age of majority in his/her place of residence) and that he/she will not allow any minor to view or have access to the material in any way at any time. If the User misrepresents his/her age, he/she and his/her legal guardian is in violation of federal laws.
If the parents are not monitoring their child well enough to prevent it, then this is what will happen if their found guilty.
Yep, that’s exactly right! 3DXChat is fully playable right now through our official website – no need to wait for the Steam release if you’re ready to dive in.
The game offers monthly (and 6- or 12-month) subscription options, and you can jump in right away and explore everything the world has to offer. As for Steam – we haven’t announced an official release date yet, and we’ll share more when the time comes.
Thanks for your interest – and shoutout to the community for helping spread the word!

At the moment, credit card is the only available payment method for subscriptions. We understand the need for more options and are exploring possibilities for the future.
