Sacred 2 Gold

Sacred 2 Gold

What a terrible game!
Terrible! If you're looking to buy, try the demo first, the graphics are plasticky and are so colorful it hurts, the voices are terrible, the game is chock full of poor design choices, and I still can't comprehend how so many people liked it... Do yourself a favor, and buy Torchlight or Torchlight II, an Elder Scrolls game or even Titan Quest Gold, they're all infinitely better!

After playing a little of Dota 2 as so many players are playing it, I wondered to myself why, as Sacred Gold 2 is so, so, so, much better, imho.

Sacred 2 is a great game - plain and simple.
Is it perfect - no.
Sacred 2 (and Scared 1) is not for everyone. It is a lot of fun though for those who like the kind of gameplay it offers and the huge open world.
Personally I prefer the Sacred games to Diablo 2.
Havent tried D3.

yeah, I play D3, but nothing touches Sacred 1 and 2 in atmosphere, humour, and gameplay, imho of course.

TorchLight is also very colorfull I don't understand your complains about this rpg?
I think I gonna buy it cause I love rpg's like Dungeon Siege 1 & 2, TorchLight 1 & 2, Diablo 3 and Path Of Exile, but I think this will be the one (or not ;)

I liked it. Don't remember buying it but was surprised when I had a go.

Personally I prefered playing this on Xbox 360 (which was native 1080p on Xbox 360 also) as you cannot use a control pad on the PC version. Very enjoyable game though. A lot of depth to it so one for the more hardcore ARPG player in my opinion.

You know, it seems, witht he cut scenes and the music, that the game at one time had some serious potential.

The in game "scenes" are god awful but i dont care, the cinematics were fantastic.

The thing that kinda wrecks this game for me is having played (and still playing to some degree) D3 and POE, hell even Grim Dawn when it comes out, toss Torchlight 2 in that mix as well.

They ALL do combat better, controls better, menu and UI is better focused on whats important in games like this (ARPG).

In this game, i bring up inventory, i cant see what weapon i have equipped, i dont get a comparison in any way when im looking at loot, which is a pain for my weapon.

The controls, the mouse look, the way the game handles 3D structures that block your view...its...bad...

I will give the game more time of course, and ive only played a brief period of time. It does seem interesting sans the combat and controls. Combat might be worse than POE which is imo one of the most uninteresting combat systems in any ARPG to date (functional but clunky, slow and boring)

I loved the start of the game, the character selection was really interesting, i like the level up skill choices, the graphical effects are nice...it just does the most important thing(s) for an ARPG horribly.

Doesnt seem to be a bad game, just its more modern competition is lightyears ahead

If you press alt when hovering over loot or a merchant item you get a comparison to what you have equipped.
Try different characters; you may find one with a style you like. They are quite different.
Give it a chance. It's better than you think.

I actually agree with Doriphor somwhow: this game is *really* cringe-worthy.
Every time I lok at my Seraphim I can't help but wonder what the designer were thinking when they created her. Not sexy or cool at all (unless you find 10€ crack ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sexy).

Nonetheless, I really like the game behind it. The vastness of the world, the equipment quantity and the skill diversity. There's even genuine humour here and there!

I just REALLY wish the design wasn't so blatantly influenced by juvenile, testosterone ravaged fantasies.
Grimminski Nov 7, 2013 @ 10:30am
I stopped paying attention to what my Seraphim looked like and instead stood in awe of the sheer wtfownage she could unleash.
Siddha Nov 7, 2013 @ 2:06pm
I have to agree with tabu. I dont like the animations of the Seraphim either; juvenile and cringy? yes. I stick with the Dragon Mage for now. He gets the job done; without pouting.

While the game is a neat concept and the game could be fun the camera is one of the worst I have ever seen in a game. The Camera makes the game almost unplayable or at the very least very unfun and just mind blowingly bad. Ranged attacks are worthless as by the time you see an enemy your stuck right on top of it. You can't see crap the camera angles are all wrong and just poorly done. I have treid almost every setting in the gameplay settings and still just blows my mind how the Developer thought the camera was perfect or even working. With TONS of other ARPGs out there I am glad I only payed $6 for this in a Humble Bundle and gave 100% to charity.

There are controls to change the camera in the options menu.
Experiment with them.
There is also a way to change the camera settings in the in a config file.
I was able to set mine up exactly as I wanted it.
It's too long ago to remember the details but if you use google you will be able to find it.
Something like 'sacred 2 camera hack'.

Dont let this minor issue put you off enjoying this charming arpg game.
A little research and you will easily resolve it.
Sure isnt that part of the fun of pc gaming?
