Sacred 2 Gold

Sacred 2 Gold

Is this game any good?
I'm honestly curious about this title because it looks like something I'd be interested in but I need honest feedback. Give me the positive AND the negative! I don't want some over the top, crazy fanboy gushing about it. I want honesty here.

In all honesty i think its probably one of thebest HnS RPGs ive played wth a lot of bugs i prefer it over D3 buti prefer Torchlight 2 over this Sacred 2 is in its own rights extremely in depth and rich with gameplay with over 1000's of hours played on it and stil not mastering it without looking up guides and figuring out mechanics and such things, over 700 sub quests with 2 main story quests (light and shadow), and each class has their class quests mind you these are all on ONE difficutly out of 5 so overall (with repeats) there is well over 3500 quests and by the time you finish them all you will more than likely forget over half of what you did unless you have a superb memory, each class can be customized almost to the T with the ratio of making a character completely ♥♥♥♥ by the time you hit max difficulty end game, like all games there are pro's and con's to this game (more pro's than con's imo) but bewarned there are many bugs you have to get patches, edit some things, and even put in commands so the game doesnt crash on you ever hour, I personally found my computers sweet spot to be able to play for 5+ hours. this game is more of a dungeon crawler like neverwinter nights then it is a hack and slash like diablo 3.

Pro's:
-Giant Gameworld,almost MMO scale

-Tons of things to do,epic amout of Quests,Class-based ones (even more with the community patch,BlindGuardian concert quest,Easterbunny Quest,Christmas Island)

-Many possible Builds for your Char, chose what you want to use and skill it

-Gazillion epic & legendary items to boost the heck out of any build

-Main story is very well written

-While beeing an "old" game still nice GFX (includes Day/night cycles, fog&rain)

-Fully enjoyable in COOP/MP (limited to LAN sollutions, sadly)

-Close to infinite replayability

Con's:
-May bug out/crash a lot, depening on your machine (luckily, not everyone has these propblems)

-Takes a while to get into everything (Skill-cooldown calculations, how to do certain things etc)

-Everyone and their cat is trying to kill you while travelling.Undead,Elf-Assasins,dogs,tiny dragons and everything else that roams the street between two towns will gang up on you. They usually do not attack each other once they saw you, gets a bit messy at times.

-No official MP Servers, everything is community based via Tunngle

My overall thought about this game is: hidden gem,i regret not buying it earlier.
Hope that helps

Hmm... Based on all the bugs and problems I've heard and the amount of patching it sounds like I'd have do to I think I'll stay away from this one as I'm very bad at trying to fix games to make them playable. Otherwise I'd probably purchase.

There is no "amount" to patch, you download the latest retail version via steam and thats it.Community patch is 1 file,200mb,with a fancy installer so no need to twiddle around.
I clocked 42 hours and the game crashed the first time since i started playingnot really bad.

If its too pricy atm,get it at summer sale for a discount.

Bugs ? What bugs ? I play & don't see so much bugs that some people reported (Community patch). Damn i'am addicted to this game now it's crazy. I don't play recent same kind like Torchlight II, Path of Exile, Diablo III... I prefer this one. I don't use high resolution pack 4GB. I hate mouse controls (very bad) and mobs level cap (i would prefer mobs always at same level than me, anywhere & anytime), skills limitation points (911 max). Even that, this game is fun if you know what you do & how to level up. Traveling all this nice huge open world is awesome.

I've got about 60 hours in and the only bugs i've seen are the ones that attack me in game. definitely worth the download.

I bought Sacred2 when it got first released played countless hours in coop...yes it had/has bugs, but i did never regret my purchase....bought it again on steam so much love in this game from the Devs. sad day when when ascaron did go under.....now i have to find my DVD with the highres textures.

btw with some config tweaking you can get a much more wide view/zoom than now...did work in multiplayer too.

There is a lot of bugs, the game's been blessed smitten with them for years. But the amount of content and original work you get for the money is a deal. When the original game and Sacred 2 came out, there was nothing out there that could match the depth of builds, and immense number of things to do for a standalone.
