Xbox controller support?
Haven't downloaded the game yet and I was wondering if the game supports the Xbox Controller?

lol, yeah. I found that out the hard way.

It doesn't directly support controllers, BUT, you can use a program called Xpadder with it. This is what I did. You will have to take some time to bind the keys to your buttons on your controller, but it can be done.

Mind sharing your configuration for it?

This is a very rough draft of what I was using until I gave in and started to train myself to use my mouse and keyboard. Copy the above, create a new profile in xpadder, and select paste. This is for the xbox 360 controller. I am unsure if this will work with any other controller.

I should also mention if that works for me it may not be the best for you, but it can be modified to suit your needs.

I have this game on Xbox is sucks big time. I love the game but the controller sucks IMO for this type of game. I got it on steam and I love it.. lol..

So what I am saying is that dont use a controller. Use KM instead.. :)

I actually have stopped playing games that do not support game pads (outside of Sim/RTS) I am bummed that I got this game.. :(

I use Xpadder. It does not, outright, support 360 controllers.

Use Xpadder! It's the ultimate way for those inclined to controllers to play kick-ass PC games.

I never liked Xpadder. It doesn't feel natural at all, and how it comes the devs decided not to add controller support when they had a console port? that's ridiculous.
I don't have anything against K/M, but to remove in the PC version something they already worked out for consoles is silly.

They would have had to redo the whole inventory interface if they added official controller support, among other things likely. Do you know how tedious inventory management is on PC with a controller? Besides, it feels more natural with k/m.

But the point was that they had already made the game work with gamepads (and pretty well) so why strip the option out of the PC version? Personally I love playing hack-n-loot games with a gamepad... Dark Alliance, anyone? Champions of Norrath? This is one of those cases where the superiority of K/M is very subjective, IMHO.

One- the pc version was out long before the console versions.
Two- the console versions were poorly redone in the inventory area.
Three- Those games you listed were designed for consoles not pc.

Same here. FTL and Civilization are pretty much the only kbm games i still play. Gamepads are just too convenient and comfortable. Even in fps games i use a pad, why cares if i would have slightly better aim if i don't enjoy it as much, not to mention that movement is easier than a keyboard, i never press the wrong key, can move in more than 8 directions, can move at direct speeds other than just run/walk, and my hands thank me for not cramping over a keyboard and mouse. And for you people hating on gamepads for aim assist, i turn that garbage off because it makes you worse is you're actually good at aiming, I'm even pissed at black ops 3 for not allowing aim assist to be turned off even in zombies so i end up playing it on ps4 more than on pc except when i want to play custom zombies maps and even then i use custom guns because only the real guns in the game have aim assist enabled. Rant over.
