Sacred 2 Remastered

Hello everyone!

The last (long) thread regarding a Sacred 2 Remastered was closed by a moderator.
However, no new thread or discussion is going on.

I wanted to ask again: Is there any new information or a plan for the creation/release of a Sacred 2 Remastered?

It would be good if THQ could give some answers.

The fantastic work of the community can be included in a remastered version, especially the Sacred 2 Enhanced Edition mod and the community patch. Last time I checked, the EE mod was on version 3.2a and the community patch is still on version 0160.

Tbh and, highly alas, knowing how poorly executed "remasters" are usually handled / dealt with, I trully hope that there's none of such for Sacred 2: Gold Edition.
I've reacquired this game through Steam because still have the original Sacred 2 vanilla CD-DVD and my Ice & Blood CD-DVD expansion of it was pirated and before I managed to acquire the real deal, unfortunately Ascaron Entertainment had closed its doors.

This is one of those shinning and outstanding cases in which a very good game still made upon the gaming industry's golden era (i.e., between 1998 and 2010'ish) was kept alive by it's mod'ing community[darkmatters.org] that ironed out pretty much all of it's little lingering bugs and improved upon the game's content (hidden or not) and that increased both it's underlying quality and replayabillity factors by the ton.
I still use the latest "Community patch" and also the "Enhanced Edition" mod upon my now Steam's installation and they both work spendidly upon an Windows 10 Operating System (OS) without me having to do any of extra compatibillity tasks.

Sadly thus far, all other Sacred games that were released after this one and it's expansion or the Sacred 2: Gold Edition weren't made by the same company(ies) and are merely using the franchise to get a quick buck without having delivered a resembling shred of quality that this title had (and still has).
And all those reasons are as to why thus far, I rather prefer for a remaster of Sacred 2 + Ice & Blood or aka Sacred 2: Gold Edition so called "remasters" aren't made. (Or at least until THQ Nordic manages to reassemble the former Ascaron team that made this game.)

While basicly agreeing with you on principle, after my thousands of hours with Sacred 2, Community Patch and Enhanced Edition, the game crashes occasionally. New players can't play it without tempering around. If I want to have another 3 to 4 thousand hours, I would want a remastered that includes CM and EE (or the purist pack for that matter) and just runs without problems.

Nothing new since that omnious comment that they are "looking into it". I actually wrote THQ nordic several times over the last years, but just no answer. :(

Me too. Still playing it. I never managed to play character to level 200 without dying, but I won't stopp trying! xD

I don't know if that is "the worst case"... Think that we can't buy today the original Baldur's Gate, only the Enhanced Edition, which apparently has changes made for "sensible audiences". So the only way to play the original, is not legal, you need to torrent it.

Now, Sacred 1 and 2 have way pretty female characters, also bikini armors, and many other things today offends those "sensible audiences". Again, be careful with what you ask for.

Well, I for one find those almost none existant armors for females pretty stupid. As if that bikini would protect you from anything. So that is no point for me. And I can't imagine anything else offending in this game.
And - as said - I still have the original here so if they butcher a remastered in any way I don't like, I don't have to buy it.

I used to be excited about the idea, but I would honestly be quite scared how that would end up now. Even remasters that seemed near-perfect and impossible to screw up, like Age of Empires 2, have been turned into some bad attempt at live service and are being dragged downhill into the Modern Gaming AAA hellhole.

Maybe if the right studio with a decent track record did it, that could be awesome. But if it gets into the hands of one of the big AAA names, we are screwed.

By the way, bikini armors don't protect against normal weapons, but with magic, maybe full armors are worse. And I'm not trying to have a "The Big Bang Theory like debate", I don't give a s*** about what is or isn't possible. I just want to see beauty in a rich fantasy world, while you guys with your "non-normative bodies" are making a real fool of yourself. You are the modern version of the priests and nuns from the past, which were censoring everything.

You missd the point like a stormtrooper. It was you who raised that one argument to not wish for a remastered and I merely explained why that is no point for me.
And beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. The full plate armor and the chain mail armor from the Dryade in this game is really beautifull to me.

The point is that there are many remasters that adapted the original to ^^sensitive audiences^^ removing the original from stores. You have the original, great for you, future buyers will be able to buy only the version for ^^sensitive audiences^^.
