1) Unique characters with unique Combat arts (which are called skills in other games)
2) open world
3) Hack N Slash
4) Armor and weapons that are visually equipped on your character, not just in the Inventory window.
OP, I recommend Disciples: Liberation. It is much slower when it comes to action, turn based game but it was satisfying experience.
Torchlight 2 (This is my all-time favorite game. The modding community has created tons of mods for this game. Most of the mods are old now, but still usable. There is one very large mod, called TL2-ACE, that is still being added to on a regular basis.)
The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing (get VH1, VH2, and VH3 and then you can request a free copy of the combined story version called Van Helsing Final Cut. The skill tree was greatly revamped in Final Cut, and you get 6 classes to choose from instead of 3. Final Cut is also balanced much better. However, I actually prefer the extra challenge of the badly balanced VH1 and VH2, and the endgame of VH2. Also, these are shorter games than Torchlight or Sacred Gold 1 and 2.)
Ones I have only partially played but might fit:
Ember (So far it seems like a good game.)
Silverfall: Earth Awakening (This one is annoying when you start because when you die, you are transported naked back to town. You have to go back out and find your gravestone to get your gear back. Once you get a storage box and learn to keep bits of gear in the box and level up a bit things will get better and you won't die unless you make a big mistake.)
Another hack n slash game that has a high quality is Grim Dawn, but it's very different from Sacred 2 in terms of character building and the general aesthetic. It was made by developers who were involved in Titan Quest, and it really shows (in a positive way).
For people who like the aesthetics of Sacred 2 - especially the combination of medieval-ish fantasy topics (swords, armor, castles, magic) with technological/futuristic stuff, you could try Sudeki. But it is a different sub-genre (3rd Person RPG with JRPG-influences), and not a hack n slash like sacred.
Just you need to give it a few hours to learn it, and it will blow your mind.
I would like to add Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2 to the list of recommended ARPG's to try if you like this. Its an oldschool ps2 title(that has a pc port available on steam) that plays at about the same slow pace as sacred. Its not complex but still feels fun to play.
Its literraly a bad Oblivion-like game with lots of failur.
And didn't mentioned TorchLight II because it was already mentioned around here.

the graphics and humor spread all through this game always reminded me a lot of sacred 2, the world is also very pleasant to explore similar to sacred 2. the story is fun and the quests are more engaging than those in sacred.
theres a lot less loot but it is somewhat randomized. the combat is pretty decent for an rpg from that time.
this game is the sequel to the divine divinity series, those are more similar to sacred 1 but they havent aged as well
I sincerely hope they will not release it "soon". I want them, no I need them to take their time and release a game that is well thought, well polished and finished. I don't care if I wait a few years from now, I NEED that game to be as "perfect" as possible.
THQ Nordic have worked steadily on updating TQ these past years and that bring me so much joy. Their patch notes are always so damn loaded with balancing / bug fixing it's amazing. New DLC's, new classes over the years.
So please, please, PLEASE, let 'em take your time for TQ2, that's all I want. I know the hype is huge. But I don't want another broken game on release cuz they were pressure into meeting impossible deadlines so greedy investors can get their stupid money or whatever...
