Nx Create Physics SDK failed-- game wont start
I have newest physics. I tried compatibility mode. Nothing. It starts to load, crashes, and throws the error in my topic title.

I need an older version of physx to play this? I have to downgrade my entire system just to play this? How?

The game worked fine on my older GPU. I just recently upgraded to a GTX 960 2 gb and now sacred 2 wont work.

I've had the exact problem, and I've managed to fix it.

Apparently the game installation doesn't install the right version of physx. However, it gives you the installation files, so you have to run it manually.

Go you the folder where you have Steam installed. And then browse to:

SteamApps\common\Sacred 2 Gold\redist\PhysX

run the install file in there.

that fails. All it says is I already have the newest version of physx.

Anyone have any idea how i could get this to run?

Do not install the driver from the game folder. You need to download the "legacy physx" from nvidia's own site. This doesn't overwrite your current driver.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx-9.13.0604-legacy-driver.html

Pity we can't get this stickied.

Could you explain how this works? This absolutely DOES NOT downgrade my physx to an older version? It works independently of my newest physx driver version? How does it do that? Does it only run when I play something like sacred 2?

I REALLY dont want to download this and have it mess up the rest of my game library somehow.

THANK YOU! This worked! I got the legacy driver you linked to and it works flawlessly! a thousand blessing upon you and your house!

This is one of my favorite ARPGs and I am happy to be able to play it again.

OMG IT WORKED THX

Tried the fix and I'm still getting the error. What's weird is that the game worked before and it just stopped for no reason.

It sounds like a character save file got corrupted. Go into the game files and move the character files to another location one at a time to see if the game will work again. Start with the most recently played character, of course.

Save file location on Windows 10:

c:\user\YOUR USERNAME\saved games\ascaron entertainment\Sacred2

No dice. Still the same lovely error.

Sorry to hear that. If you already tried the usual:

1) Having Steam verify the files.
2) Reinstalling the game.

then I am out of ideas.

Copy (don't move) both the d3d9.dll and d3d9on12.dll from your Windows\System32 directory to your Sacred 2 Gold\system directory. If they're already present, overwrite them. Copying the ones from Windows\SysWOW64 instead of Windows\System32 may work also, but they stopped working for me after shifting to Win11.

What do I do when I have the same Error, or somewhat the same but with Intel iGPU (4000M Series).
