Yup. I agree. No hope for a patch to add it either.

I like to play with mouse and keyboard; there is only a tiny amount of video games that can actually be played more easily with a controller. At least so far as I am concerned (you may disagree), RPGs can usually be played more easily with mouse and keyboard, espcecially if you can remap most keys.

heya, i know your feeling but let me reassure you. mouse+keyboard is what isometrics from this era was designed around. you may feel hindered if you are unsed to it but hear me out on this. remember with a pad all the awkwardness of casting ground spell, teleporting and so on because you waiting for a silly little target box to move slowly in the direction you want while you get pummeled. guess what. its no more. free yourself from the restrictions of console hiundered releases and remember. everything you do now is better, faster, more accurate, far prettier, and with less lag.

in the end not having a pad is the best. leave those for games like dynastywarriors.

but if you insist on finding a way i reccomend getting a copy of xpadder. if you dont know what it is it will allow you to map the keys of your controller and assign them to keyboard and mouse keys. from there its up to you to bind the correct controlls to the pad buttons and allow controll over the mouse via a joysick with 2 modes, a snapping mode so when you stick is centre so is your cursor, stick top right cursor top right, or by simply down moves cursor lower right moves it further right ect.

but use the mouse

edit: saw you above post and i also played on both xbox and pc, the mouse works best ^_^

it is beautiful, and there is also a community patch with some fix's and a few extra quests and items etc to do with content / balance / performance. im in 1080 p curently and have only used the ingame settings so this is my oppinion spectacular looking with plenty of gfx options before forcing nvidia to add extra aliasing and so on.

i think the main thing to poin out here is, sacred like many other games in similar positions are designed for PC not the console, the consoles are the money grab part of it all. but like all things its impossible to recreate the gameplay properly on them. and that is why we end up with games dare i say like sacred 3 and dungeon siege 3 as companies realise the control sceme that is necessary for a isometric game in this style is unachieveable on consoles due to controll restrictment.

i will point out that the online side of the game shut down years ago but is still doable via LAN programs aka hamachi and so on.

all in all if you enjoyed the gameplay then this is the game you loved as the devs intended it

When I played this I made a decent xpadder configuration to use an xbox 360 controller. I posted it in these discussions somewhere years ago somewhat unfinished however. my biggest issue was inventory management.

yeah...awesome...there is always a issue when the devs decide to leave stuff out...worked so well on the 360//ps3 and i dont get why they just didnt add it.

WASD/controller movement is much much better for this kind of top-down view action game.

I agree, but you responded to a thread from 2015 XD

he is still right though, kb/m elitists are the bronies of the steam forums. At least the examples in this thread managed to say something else aside from muh keyboard muh mouse.

I loved this on 360 and saw no reason not to buy the PC version, and at first, I was with you: I wanted controller support. But I stuck with it and learned the ins and outs of the kb/m controls and grew to like it.

I'd prefer controller support still, but you can tell after playing for a few hours that kb/m support is what this game was built around.

Get the community patch 0160 and download Hamachi. We can get 5 people together and start playing this gem online again.

As far as why Sacred 3 sucks, Ascaron, makers of Sacred 1 and 2, are no longer around, so whatever has been done to the series is someone else's fault. Or, in other words: Sacred 1 and 2 are great games... it's just a shame they never made any more of them.
